"That was perfect." Scooter finally decided to say after creepily staring at me for a few moments. "Uh, thanks?" I started to take the headset off, they were annoying me. I walked over to my mom and she gave me a hug, "You were wonderful dear, why haven't you ever sang to me before?" She asked me, confused. I always kept this little talent a secret. I'm surprised I sang just now, my nerves were calm, like I have been doing this forever. "Um.. I don't know." I said, then we both walked over to Scooter and he played back what I just sang.
Damn was I good. I swear, I'm not conceited. But, I was really good. I never knew I was that good, it didn't even sound like me. Wow.
"You are really good. That was probably the best cover of that song that I have ever heard.." Scooter said, getting excited. "Um thanks. I try." I said with a smile. I heard the door to the studio thing open, it was Usher.. Again. Man this was just an epic day.
"Yo, man, who is that?" He asked Scooter, but obviously, he knew it was me I mean, it couldn't have been my mom.. Or Scooter. "This amazing voice is mah girl right here. Her name is Sophie. Isn't this like the best cover you have heard yet?" He said, while putting his arm around me. Okay getting uncompfortable. Even though it was in the 'hey there buddy' type of way, it still creeped me out. Didn't he have a girlfriend? Just kidding.. Okay anyways.. "Yeah man, this is really good, you are amazing." He said, looking at me. All I could do was smile the goofiest smile ever. I probably looked like an idiot. But I managed to spit out a couple word or things I think are words, "Um, uh, Thanks. That means a lot." I said, still smiling. "No problem sweetie. Yo, you gonna sign her or what? Before she gets in the wrong hands." He said, winking at me. I felt my eyes widen. ME?! GETTING SIGNED?! Holy shit.
"Yeah man of course." Replied Scooter. "Aight, I gotta run but I will be talking to you soon." He patted my arm then left. "Alright, Sophie, Lucy, this is your contract. I got it ready like right after I heard her sing in the park because I knew I just had to have her. She has an amazing voice. And if you sign this now, you will join Justin Bieber on his current tour and be his new opening act. Whatdya say?" Woah. Freeze. Time out. Stop the world for a moment. This is going WAY too fast. Me being Justin BIEBER's opening act? I don't even have any songs? Well, I mean, I wrote like a few songs, just for shits and giggles though. Even though my friends read them and told me they were good.. It's still weird. And before this story goes on any further, let me properly introduce myself, this could take a while;
My name is Sophie LeighAnn Beckenhart. I am 16 years old, gonna be 17 in October. I live in New York City, that's where the park was that I was discovered in. I live in a nice apartment/condo, my parents both have good paying jobs and ya know, make enough money to support me and my 2 sisters, Jules (18) & Amanda (3), (I know big difference but you liked having a baby sister) yup, I was the middle child. Yipee. Anyways, as for looks, I'm not bad looking but I wouldn't consider myself goregous, even though people tell me I am, I don't believe it. I am about 5'5, and weigh around 110lbs. Yea, you might think I have a perfect body, be jellin. LOLJK. But anyways, since I'm like all italian, I basically always have a slight tan.. I have long dark, dirty-blonde-ish hair (goes just above my elbows) and its has natural waves. I have brownish-reddish eyes. I never really get copmliments on them since they are just brown. I guess I'm the only one that notices the red. And since I am a girl, I wear make-up. My life revolves around make-up. I feel like I look like a man without it. I know, weird, but still. As for my social life.. I have tons of friends. Ha. I have a decent amount, not too many, not too little. As for relationships.. I have a past. Let's just leave it at that.
Zooming back into the fastness of reality, I guess it was my turn to answer. I already saw my mom signed, I guess while I was zoning out they must have talked about all the boring stuff. I looked at Scooter and he was holding the pen, for which it was my turn to sign the paper that would change my life. What the hell. I signed my name. There, in black and white. On a singing contract.. I never thought this would ever have happened to me.
I slumped back into the chair and let out a sigh, a happy sigh, like a relieving sigh. I can't believe I just basically signed my life over to this guy. He could like rape me and I wouldn't be allowed to do anything about it. LOLJK rape isn't funny. "Okay so now that we are all set, your schedule begins.. Well now. Tomorrow at 9 am, we will ALL meet, like the entire crew, you get your own body guard tomorrow, we meet with Usher, Justin, and the rest of the crew that you will be spending quite sometime with. And since this might be going on when school starts, you will share a tutor with Justin. All costs on us." He said all of that with a smile. Like he's used to this.. Well I'm not. Getting up at fricken 9.. well no my meeting is at 9, I probably have to get up at like 7 just go get ready. It's July. Summer. Sleep late. Well.. I guess this is what happens when you sign your life over to singing.
Me and my mom said our goodbyes, it was already 7pm. We would see them in like 12 hours.. Great.
We arrived home to.. "SOPHIE! YOUR A POPSTAR NOW?! OH MY GOD I'M GONNA BE FAMOUS! I mean.. Your gonna be famous.." That was Jules for ya.. She always thought of herself and I really just lived in her shadow. She was the popular girl in school, which automatically made me popular, just for being her sister. I liked the perks but I was always referred to as 'Jules' sister' Cool. I started not to mind it because now, she would live in my shadow. But here came the one person who always seemed to lighten my day, "Sophie! Your a POPstar now?!" Amanda said shrugging her arms. She was adorable. "No, Mandy, not yet. But hopefully soon." I picked her up and walked us over to the kitchen to see we that we were having pizza for dinner. That's a nice celebratory dinner. I just got signed with a record deal thing company and I get pizza. I mean, I know I might sound ungrateful but the least my parents could have done was taken us out to dinner. Oh well, I was tired anyway, long day.
I ate my pizza and started for bed. It was already 8. I needed to basically start packing if I was going on a like year long tour. Crap. I forgot to call Talia. I will call her tomorrow morning, I am way to exausted. I took out a couple suitcases from my closet and laid them on the floor, getting them ready. I didn't want to start packing now, at this time of night. So instead, I just showered and got ready for bed. Before I got into bed though, I went over to my little, apartment balcony, it was small, the ones all apartments have. I loved going onto it at night. And luckily, it was a nice clear and warm night. I could sit outside forever.. So I sat there for a while.. Just thinking. Thinking about what I will be leaving behind, thinking about what's to come. But my motto is, 'Live in the present, not the future and we let go of the past for a reason.' Deep, I know.
It felt like I was sitting there forever just thinking, it was already 10. I needed to go to sleep and thankfully I was ready for bed. But was I ready for what's gonna come next?
