I woke the next morning feeling more refreshed than normal. A mixture of Gabe, the sex and eating a proper dinner had probably done me the world of good. My phone rung before I even got out of bed. I answered the call without looking.
“Morning” I yawned
“Hey, it's Serena. How'd you sleep?”
“Wonderfully...”
“Is he there?” She probed.
“No, I'm alone.”
“oh, boo.”
“It's okay. He was here last night”
“ooh!” She cheered excitedly
“Anyway, as much as I love our idle chats Serena, I have both theater and dance this morning. I need to get ready.”
“Okay, keep your knickers on!”
I snickered, I wasn't wearing any. They were still on the sofa. “Okay, sorry. What's up?”
“My job interview is at 10:30, I was wondering if you wanted to meet up for lunch”
“Oh okay! Yeah sounds great. Dance class finishes at 12.30, where is your interview?”
“Stonehaven Publishing”
“Oh okay, I know the one, there is a great Mexican restaurant two doors down. We can meet at 1pm?”
“Sure, sounds great!”
I smiled and put the phone down after we'd farewelled one another. It was 7:30. I needed to be up and gone at 8am. I sat up and rubbed my face. My phone went off again, a message this time. I picked it up again.
Hey, I have need a ride? I'm leaving in 20 – Gabriel
I'm meeting Serena for lunch, for reals... I need the car. - Me
I could come with? A friendly lunch – Gabriel
I frowned at the phone, A friendly lunch. It sounded harmless.
Sure. I hope you like Mexican food – Me
One of my fave cuisines. See you in 20 xx– Gabriel
See you in 20 – Me
I stood up and grabbed fresh dancing clothes. I hadn't put the washing on last night, and my two other leotards were waiting to be washed. I showered, then dressed and done my hair.
I was nearing 8'o'clock when Gabe knocked on the door. I ran past, in between grabbing my books for theater class and unlocked the door.
“I'm running late, I know, I'm sorry.” I stopped for a moment.
Gabe looked at me with a bemused smile. “We have plenty of time.”
I picked my bag up and looked at Gabe, I let out a long exasperated sigh. “Shall we go.”
Gabriel smiled and pointed down.
“Are you aware you haven't got any pants on yet?”
I looked down and almost died. He was right. I had my leotard, t-shirt and jacket on. I even had socks and trainers on. I had completely overlooked pants. I felt my skin flush.
“Don't be embarrassed” Gabe soothed. “I don't have a problem with you not wearing pants.”
I shot him a look of distaste then walked into my bedroom. I grabbed a pair of black pants and pulled them on. For good measure I grabbed a pair of jeans and a nice top. Going to lunch sweaty after dance class didn't appeal.
