When Seraphina woke up, she was back at the Institute. She had absolutely no recollection of how she had gotten there; all she knew was that the back of her head was throbbing and that the last thing she remembered was passing out in that cell. Before she could stand up and go ask someone to explain to her what had happened, Andrea, who had been sitting in the room, immediately stood up and walked towards her with a content smile.

"Oh my God! I am so glad you finally woke up."

"What... What happened?"

"You were almost killed by Christopher's extraction of the Heavenly Fire."

"But how did I get here?"

"He let you go."

"Wait. What?"

"We don't know why, but he let you and Jace go for some reason. After you passed out, he allowed Jace to take you back to the Institute. He didn't say why or ask for anything else."

"Do you think he might have a reason to want me alive?"

"It's Christopher Morgenstern we're talking about, so probably, yes," Andrea said, making Seraphina sigh heavily. "My guess, is that he needs you for something. But only God knows what that is."

"Ugh, I hate not knowing anything," Seraphina complained.

"About that... I had this crazy idea," Andrea started, gaining Seraphina's attention. "I mean... I'm not sure if it's possible--"

"At this point, Andrea, you better believe that literally everything is possible," Seraphina said. "What were you thinking?"

"What if we summon the Angel Raziel himself to give you your memories back?" Andrea questioned. "I mean... It worked for Valentine Morgenstern, right?"

"Yes, but we had the three Mortal Instruments."

"But you've summoned angels before without the Mortal Instruments. And you have his angel blood."

"I guess it could work, but Raziel's only known to appear on one location."

"Then we go there, summon him, and talk him into giving back your memories. Easy."

"I mean... It could work. But we would have to go to Lake Lynn."

"Then let's do it."

"No Mundane has ever entered Idris, Andrea. I don't know..."

"Come on, let me help you," Andrea pleaded. "Look... You were the one who brought me into the Shadow World, and I know that there must be a reason. All I have been doing lately is being a burden to everyone around me. For once, I just want to help."

"Alright. Let's go. But we can't tell the others we're doing this. Summoning the Angel is not something the Clave takes lightly."

Andrea nodded, as Seraphina slid on her combat boots and grabbed a stele and a seraph blade. She then gestured for Andrea to follow her out of the infirmary, deep into one of the less busy corridors around. If they were going to do this, they had to be extremely careful about it, making sure nobody saw them.

Once the coast appeared to be clear, Seraphina took out her stele and started to draw the Portal rune, thinking about where she wanted to go. However, before she could finish, a familiar voice made both girls turn around, knowing they had been busted.

"And where exactly are you two going?" Simon asked, crossing his arms over his chest and raising an eyebrow.

"Simon! Seraphina and I were just..." Andrea began, trying to come up with something, but failed.
