The Logical Struggle

Ch 6 New School

Logan sighed as Roman walked away a little upset that he was gone. In truth, Logan really liked spending time with Roman he loved hearing him tell stories or just having a "normal" conversation. Even though he wanted to follow, he stayed there keeping the cold, emotionless version of himself intact, just like how his uncle had ask. "You don't need to feel. It makes you weak" he repeated the words of his least favorite person. 

"Hey Lola!" Janus exlaimed hugging him tightly from behind not relizing that he was pressing against the brusis and cuts littering the poor boy's back. 

Logan tensed up at the sudden contact, but once he relized who it was he relaxed again. "Good morning." Logan said trying to brush off the name that De knew him by. "Could you please let me go De?" Logan asked not enjoying the hug in the slightest. 

De nodded letting Logan out of the bone crushing  hug "Sorry. Hey aren't we gunna get a new kid in our class?"

"Yeah I met him. He moved in to the old and creepy house next to mine. His name is Roman he's nice. He talks a lot though." Logan said nodding.

At this Deceit giggled. "You talk a lot Lola." Then Declan's face lit up and he gaped. "There's gunna be two of you! I'll have another person to play with and talk to and..."

 At some point during the excited child's speech Roman came back out of the office. "hi Log...la" he said correcting himself mid-speech. Logan gave him tight smile. 

"Hi Roman! This is Janus, but I just call him De" He introduced.

"I'm Roman" the new boy introduced extending a hand to Janus. "The principal said I should find a buddy before school starts so they can show me around, so would either of you like to be my buddy?" When he saw both of his new friends nod he said. "Okie Dokie then I guess I have two buddies." He said exited to have already found two friends when he's only been at the school for ten minutes. Roman then almost immediately began to bombard the two with questions about who the people passing were and where his room was and anything else he could think of. Roman even asked about things that did not apply to school like his friends favorite colors and what they like to play at recess.  After a while, the bell rang and Logan and Janus lead the confused boy to his new class room and up to Ms. Davison's desk

"Hello Roman right?" she asked to which the small boy nodded. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Ms. Davison and I'll be your teacher this year. I will introduce you to the rest of the class in a few minutes but until then you can sit down your seat is over there." She said pointing to his seat in the back of the class room not quite organized in a row the rest of them. It was obvious that she had just recently pulled it into the classroom. 

Once the class had all started their work and were sitting down quietly the young teacher walked to the front of the class room. "Good morning everybody" she said with a smile. "As I'm sure you've noticed we are welcoming a new student into our classroom today. Roman would you like to come up and tell the class a little bit about your self?" She asked motioning towards him. 

The extravagant second grader stood up and walked to the front of the room excited. "Hi my name is Roman I used to live in Florida but my mommy got a new job so we moved all the way here." He said. "I like Disney movies and my friends and  riding my bike." he listed off. 

"Very good Roman" Ms. Davison said "Does anybody have any questions that can help us get to know our new friend better?" She asked the class. To this students raised their hands an began asking questions like "how many siblings do you have" or "what's your favorite movie" and of course there were some silly questions thrown in the mix too such as "what is your favorite type of juice" and "do you eat mac n cheese with a fork or a spoon." After a few minutes Miss Davison cut of the student's speech and sent Roman back to his seat so they could start their work.
