Reality sat in the wooden chair, thinking the thoughts.

I am a plank of wood. Just... Boring. Straightforward facts that don't have time to run. But I will. I will. I don't care if the world blows up. People will learn to live with it. I'm just tired of being me...

But this time something happened. A bright light drifted around the room. Reality was... scared? Excited? Surprised? All three?

The light lands and becomes the shape of a human. She wore a silk white dress that glowed. White hair was a light cloud around her.

"Who are you?" Reality asked, confused. It was reality. This shouldn't happen.

"I am Light. Sorry that Hope couldn't come. She has, well, a bit of a situation to get through right now, but I'm here."

"Wait - Light? Why are you here? How are you a real thing?"

"Well, yes, to help, and I just am."

"Can you explain?"

"Of course, Reality. So, you know how you and Fantasy are aspects of life, and therefore have a place to be?"

"Yeah."

"Well, there is also a place for Light and Dark, two very powerful forces. I am Light."

"But Hope -"

"And obviously there is also a place for emotions, too!"

"Okay, but why are you here?"

"Hope sensed that you were giving up."

"I am. I want to be like like Fantasy, but I can't even see her!"

"Why not?"

"I'm Reality."

"So?"

"I can't do miracles or cool stuff."

"Who says?"

"I don't know. I just can't. I just can't."

"There has to be an answer."

Reality thought about this and gasped. "Me..."

Light smiled. "Reality, the only reason that something is impossible is that no one believes that it is. Reality is what really happens. But is it? No. Because what really happens?"

"Can I see Fantasy then?"

"I was just getting to that. You see, you ARE reality, Reality. And you've been giving up on your dream on meeting and being like Fantasy. Because of that, Fantasy is dying."

"Wait WHAT??"

"The people below us are giving up on their dreams, too. They aren't believing in anything because of you. And therefore, Fantasy is losing her identity. Soon she will forget who she is!"

"And I have to -"

"Save her."

"How can I save someone as great as Fantasy? I'm just me."

"Well, to start, you could believe. Believe in yourself, in your identity, in your dreams, and in what you have ignored for eternity."

"What have I ignored?"

"Think. Think back to the beginning. Back, back, back..."

Reality closed her scared eyes and thought. The beginning: the silver cup, the clear water, the girl who yelped, the boy who cried, the blood that splattered the metal floor. The fire, the ice, the king who threw the woman away. And then there was, no, no, no. No!

Reality screamed and fell to the floor, unconscious.
