Forty-eight hours
blurred together by all the fog
on the other side
of the bus window
seemed like four days.
I believe I fell in love
with the mist that night
while we sat outside of Burger King,
my brown kid sized gloves
on her bony, frozen hands.
We had no home for that night.
We never truly had one.
