"you broke the ocean in half to be here. only to meet nothing that wants you. – immigrant"
"Fuck." Erik groans after the eighth hard cough came from his mouth, making his dry throat feel like it was burning. He brought his and towards it, rubbing it up and down while he followed Sina down the steps of her house. His eyes watched her cautiously as she walked down the steps. He thought of every possible move he could use to catch her off guard, pin her up, and make a quick exit... but he had questions for her still."You're going to keep coughing like that for a minute. You're not sick, but your body is trying to adjust to having everything functioning again." Sina spoke loud enough for him to hear, cutting into her kitchen and going towards the refrigerator to grab him a bottle of water. Turning to hand it to him, his eyes connect with her own. Blinking, Sina huffed. "I didn't do anything to the water— I don't have the energy to bring you back and put you right back under again... if I wanted to, maybe. But, it's a no. Drink." She pushed the bottle closer towards him.
Taking it, Erik unscrewed the cap, taking gulps from the container— missing the simple taste of fresh water, while trying to get the taste of the water from the nile out of his mouth at the same time. "Please, come see your kids before they ruin my garden, and we can talk after."
"Kids?" Erik's face scrunched. Sina's eyebrows raised at the tone of his voice. Not because of any underlying sarcasm, but simply the depth of his voice. It had a demanding rasp to it, and the American accent made her even more interested. It intrigued her.
"The jaguars." She clasped her hands together. "I'm guessing they see you as a dad or something, because they wouldn't leave your side at all during this whole thing." Erik leaned against the wall, taking more notice to her appearance. His eyes danced around the curves of her body, and even the wrap that was on her head; how she took the time to coordinate the patterns on them. He noticed how her eyes and her voice even held a sultry mystery to it.
Erik didn't know if she was doing it on purpose, but he figured he'd figure out sooner or later.
"You keep looking at me like that, and we're gonna have some things to sort out; don't you think?" Sina flashed her white smile, with a small chuckle following after. Shaking her head, a sigh came from her lips when she opened the back double-doors that lead outside. Erik followed behind her and took in the site of her backyard being taken over by large cats. Sina looked up at him and smirked. "These are yours." Steppingstones further out, the large cats took notice to the two humans and came closer. While Sina sat on the steps to watch, Erik walked down them and stood in the middle of the grass, looking at how the large cats embraced him.
