"Watch out-" Both Sabito and Giyuu were thrown over the forest and away from the house. Mid air Sabito quickly grabbed onto Giyuus clothing and clung onto him. He's passed out. Is he serious!? They both hit the ground and rolled over right out of the forest. Both their clothes ripped up and dirty. Sabito slowly got up coughing out, only to fall back down. He was on all fours coughing. "giyuu-" he choked out, coughed out some blood and inhaled. "G-giyuu?" He looked over the demon. Giyuu was on his back not moving. Sabito crawled over to him quickly. He cupped his face. "Giyu? Are you dead? I swear to go if you're dead I'm gonna kill you." He slapped him. Giyuus eyes opened and he grabbed Sabitos wrist out of reflex. "Giyu!!" Giyu looked at him and let go of his wrist. "Oh it's just you- why does everything hurt so badly." Giyu continued laying on the floor, staring at the moon above him. Giyu say up and sighed. "We're out of the woods? Again?" Sabito nodded. "That demon blasted us out of it. Weird" Giyuu got up on his feet, pulling Sabito up with him. "Come on. I'm not letting a demon steal my house." Sabito sighed and began walking in the direction of the house. "What if I can't beat it." Giyuu kept looking straight ahead with his straight face."Then you go home, and I'll just find somewhere else to stay." He spoke. Sabito sighed. They kept walking to the house. Giyuu to the front porch and stood at the door once they arrived. He looked back and saw Sabito by the trees still. Giyu smirked. "What you scared?" And Sabito rolled his eyes. "I can't pass " he said plainly. Giyu tilted his head in confusion. "What are you talking about." Sabito reached his hand out and stopped midway. With all his might he tried to push in but he couldn't. Giyu saw it. There was a barrier. He probably couldn't get through since he's human. Giyu grabbed Sabitos arms and tried to pull him in. His hands were through only but the more he pulled in the tougher is got. Giyu began pulling with all his force. His pupils went red and his viens began popping out. He yelled out with force his fangs becoming sharper. Sabitos eyes went wide. "Tomioka stop!" He yelled out. Giyu ignored him and heard a rumble. He quickly wrapped his arms around Sabito in a protective manner and shut his eyes. Sabito went red and he went through the barrier. They both landed on the ground, Sabito still in Giyus Arms. "um giyu?" Sabito looked at him. His eyes were shut tightly and he was out of breath. Sabito got off of him and sighed. "Are you okay?" Giyu nodded. "That.....that took a lot out of me...." giyuu smiled looking at Sabito. "But hey....you got through....." Sabito chuckled. "Idiot " Sabito stood up from the ground and looked at the front door. Giyuu soon got up with him and they both headed for the door, but..."what the hell?" Giyu banged his hands against another barrier right at the door. Sabito groaned. "Great now we both can't get through " he headed down back to the ground and sat on the grass. "I'll just wait till the sun comes up. I doubt the demons powers will still be this strong with the sun out." Giyuu flared at him and walked over to the trees. His head hit the Barrier. "What the hell!? Now I can't get out!" Sabito looked at him. "Wasn't the Barrier farther out?" He questioned. Giyuus eyes went wide. "We're trapped- and the god damn barrier is shrinking!" Sabito sighed and laid back onto the soft grass. He looked at the sky. "Like i said giyu, I'll wait till sunrise." Giyu glared out into the woods. Sabito smiled and giyuus frustration. "Most importantly you're gonna die soon. The sun is going to be up in about an hour and you have no escape." Sabito lied on the ground holding his nichirin blade. Giyuu had his hand against the barrier and sighed. "Good. Maybe it's for the best." Sabito sat up. "Are you serious? 'It's for the best' ?" Giyuu knew the topic was about to come up and turned around with a smile. "You know what? Forget i even said anything " Sabito got up on his feet and began walking towards giyuu. "Giyuu im not just going to forget that. You know how I feel when you talk like that" Giyuu groaned. "Then stop feeling for me for peaks sake! I don't get why you're still so worked up about me!" Giyuu crossed his arms and looked away. Sabito raised a brow. "What do you mean? Giyuu you're my best friend. I know we haven't really talked in about a year but I still care for you! This entire year with out you I've been scared to death thinking you might've been dead already." Sabito looked to the ground shoving his hands in his pockets. "Well you should engrave in your skull that I'm already technically dead. So when I actually die you won't feel a thing! Boom problem solved!" Giyu walked away. Sabitos angst began to boil. "You idiot! It's not like that! How did you feel when Tsutako had died huh?! Back when you were a human you went through pain every fucking day because she was gone!" Giyuu stood still. "Don't bring my sister in this Sabito. She has nothing to do with this shit!" He turned around glaring at Sabito. "Im talking about you! Ever since that day you sulked around feeling like shit thinking you should've died instead of her! That's how I'm gonna feel when you're gone." Sabito looked down at his feet, biting his lip trying to hold back his tears. Giyu rolled his eyes. "Sabito- you need to stop caring for me so much. You need to care for yourself instead." Sabito sighed. "I can't. I care for you too much. That's why-" he stopped. Giyuu went silent as well. Footsteps. They heard footsteps. They both turned their heads towards the noise, Sabito placing his hand on the grip of his blade ready to draw it. There stood a blue tainted demon. He looked at the two with a straight face. "oh, she caught both a demon and a human. How nice." He said and walked right through the barrier like it was nothing. Sabitos eyes went wide. "H-how did you-" the demon was at the front door. "Don't speak to me. I don't associate with those who kill my kind." He said and opened the door and went inside, once again going through like it was nothing. Sabito drew his sword and ran to the door slashing at the demon only for the blade to his the barrier and bounce back onto Sabitos face, cutting him on the cheek. Giyu just watched Sabito clench his cheek and pitifully slash the barrier with his blade multiple times. He stopped soon after, out of breath, panting staring inside the house. Giyuu scoffed. He walked over to Sabito and placed his hand on his shoulder. "It's useless. We're done here. We're stuck. I'm gonna burn alive soon so just give up." He said softly. Sabito fell onto his knees still panting. He shook his head. ".....no.....we can't just, give up, I can't....." he sighed. He looked inside the house and put his hand against the barrier. "There has to be a way in. This is your house can't you get in another way?" Sabito looked at giyuu with hope in his eyes. Giyu stopped to think. "um......the chimney? But what if it's blocked off too?" Giyuu asked. Sabito stood up with a smile. "We won't know until we try! Give me a boost," he said getting in front of giyuu. Giyu kneeled down and held his hands out. Sabito placer his foot in his hands ready to jump. "Ready?" Giyuu asked. Sabito nodded and with that giyuu through his hands up, Sabito jumping at the same time. He flew into the air and landed onto the roof. Giyu jumped up there and helped Sabito up. "Well?" Sabito smiled and headed for the chimney. He placed his legs in and looked at giyuu. Giyuu nodded and Sabito slid down the chimney with a thud in the end. Giyuu headed down soon after landing in coal and ashes. He coughed a bit and headed out of the fireplace. Sabito had his blade out scanning the living room. Giyu dusted himself off. "Any Demons?" Sabito shook his head no. Giyu headed for the second floor. "I'll check upstairs." Sabito began checking the rooms on the first floor. Once he opened the last closet, finding nothing, he headed for the stairs. He stopped hearing glass shatter. Sabito ran up to the noise and opened the door to an empty room. Giyuu was right in front of Sabito and across from him stood the pink and blue demon. The blue demon grasping at his own eye that was bleeding. "Giyu?" Sabito pointed his blade at the two demons. The pink one growled. "How did you get through!?" She yelled opening a fist which through an attack. Both giyu and Sabito jumped to the side, dodging it. The blue one raised his palm and spoke softly "blood demon art.......quaking earth....." The floor began to shake and the ground was ripped open by huge rocks and dirt shooting at them. It wasn't that big of an attack. Once the two demons had separated Sabito headed for the blue one. It was weak and probably easy to defeat. "water breathing, second form, water wheel." He moved so flawlessly only to be stopped midway missing the demon. "What the-" Sabito was thrown at the wall by the pink demon. "Leave him alone!" She yelled out at him. Giyuu kicked her making her fly onto the ceiling. Sabito took that chance and sliced the blue demons head off, knowing the pink demon wasn't focused on him at the moment. She fell to the ground her eyes wide. "no!" She yelled out and growled. "I knew he was useless damn it!" She quickly through Giyuu out a window and out of the woods knowing he would be trouble. Giyuu had landed close by the house of the boy they have saved earlier that night. He laid on his stomach groaning. Only a half an hour left until dawn. He weakly got up. His clothes and haori were all ripped up and dirty. Blood was dripping from his eyes, mouth, nose his arms his chest, he was badly bruised. Giyu didn't care, he was a demon. He could handle it. Plus Sabito was alone and in danger. Giyu began walking towards the house again with a limp. He wasn't even sure if he'd even make it.
Sabito panted. Both hands were gripping his sword tightly as he stood before the demon. She had a smirk on her face and she giggled. She threw attacks after attacks at the peach haired male. Sabito couldn't land a single hit, he only had the time to dodge he attacks. He wasn't any good. He wiped the blood and sweat on his face and smiled. "Alrighty I have a good feeling about this." He said slashing his blade as fast as he could at the demon, slicing only half of her hair off. She quickly backed up and anger grew over her. "Enough!" She opened her hands and her eyes went a bright red. "Blood demon art, burning claws!" In an instant heat blew into Sabitos face. He laughed. "That's your power? Heat?" He pointed his blade at her and froze. She a had a huge smile on her face. Sabitos eyes went wide seeing huge flames heading for him. He couldn't move. Why couldn't he move? Was he going to burn alive.
"Sabito?"
Sabito turned his head and saw giyu looking at him with his deep blue sea colored eyes filled with worry. Sabito smiled and ruffled giyuus hair.
"Hey don't worry."
Sabito looked at the woods ahead of them gripping his blade.
"Remember what I told you?"
Giyu stared at the boy his eyes shining. He nodded and looked ahead, drawing his sword.
"We're in this together."
Sabito smiled.
"No matter what,"
They looked at each other with determination and both said,
" we'll have each other's backs."
Both of them had their blades out and fox masks on, ready to defeat whatever demon they were about to encounter during final selection.
"let's go."
Sabito felt heat wash over his body but yet it didn't burn. Why? He opened his eyes seeing giyuus body right next to him. Right before the flames had hit him, Giyuu jumped onto sabito, grabbing him into his arms and dodging the attack. The demon as eyes went wide.
"What?!"
Giyu slapped Sabitos face gently with a smile.
"Hey get up," Sabito opened his eyes seeing giyus face above his. "Why?" He asked gently. Giyuu helped the male up with a smile. "Remember ? We're in this together." Giyu was badly hurt. Half of his whole body was slightly burnt from the flames. He had cuts and bruises everywhere. Despite the bleeding Giyu continues to smile with determination. Sabito smiled back and quickly made an attacking, surprising the demon girl. "Water breathing, fourth form, striking tide" with that the demons head was chopped off. The sun had just come out from above the trees. Sabito smiled, relief washing over him as the sun touched his skin. The whole top floor was basically broken down and exposed to the sunlight. Sabito quickly turned around. "Giyu ?" He tan downstairs where it was fairly dark. He heard clinking sounds. Sabito headed to the kitchen and found Giyu sitting in a corner in the dark. Sabito dropped his blade on the ground and quickly sat in front of Giyu, wrapping his arms around his neck in a form of a hug. Giyu didn't move, he was tired. He was exhausted and he didn't want to do anything else but sleep. Sabito sat there for awhile and then whispered the words, "Thank you " to the other male. Giyu lifted his head from his arms and looked at Sabito. Sabito smiled softly at Giyu. There was still blood dripping from his face. Giyu placed his hand on Sabitos cheek gently with a relived smile. Sabito leaned into his touch and chuckled softly. Giyuu leaned closer to Sabitos face, their lips inches apart. Should he? Should he kiss him? He wasn't sure. He didn't want to make things awkward. Sabito grew pink and closed the distance between them. He couldn't believe it. He, a demon slayer had just kissed a demon. Was this even allowed? He didn't care. They sat there sharing a kiss with each other. Their hands collided together and Giyu had his hand on the back of Sabitos neck. They parted. Both looking each other in the eyes. It was a rather passionate kiss that they shared. It was perfect. Giyu slowly removed his hand from Sabitos neck and let go of his hand, looking away from the other male. Sabito tilted his head a bit in confusion . "Giyu?" Giyu stared at his feet refusing to look at the other. He inhaled sharply. "You should go." Was all he said. Sabitos face expression dropped and he looked at his own feet. "oh." They both were silent. Sabito couldn't think of what to say. Why did he want him to leave? They had just shared a kiss and now he won't look at him. Sabito threw his head back against the wall behind him and laughed. Giyu looked at him and raised a brow. "What's so funny?" He asked while watching Sabito still cracking a laugh. Sabito looked at giyu and ran his hand through his own hair. He smiled. "Why?"
"Why what?"
"why..."
"Sabito-"
"What did I do wrong?"
Giyu sighed.
"Nothing you did nothing wrong."
"Then why."
"Why what? What do you want me to say?"
"Why the hell do you want me to leave? I want to stay here with you a least for today."
Giyu looked away and chuckle.
"that's a simple answer. You know why."
"No I don't know why."
"Sabito don't start"
"No tell me. Tell me why"
"It's simple Sabito! Im a goddamn demon for fucks sake. You're supposed to slay me, chop my head off."
"..."
Nothing. Sabito looked up with a smile. "Y'know about two weeks ago there was hashira meet." Giyu listened quietly to what Sabito had to say. He continued. "It was involved with this slayer, he was in the mizunoto rank. I believe his name was Tanjiro Kamado." Giyu looked up and faced Sabito. "A 15 year old boy with a scar on his forehead " He pointed to where the scar would be, " with bright red hair and handafunda like earrings. With him was a box he carried around all day. And inside was his demon sister. We argued whether we should slay the demon and kill the boy for going against corps rules. But I heard him say something I didn't expect him to say. He said that you, 2 years ago had told him to go to Urokodaki's mountain to train for final selection. You out of all people didn't slay a demon. Giyu you hate demons. But you didn't slay this boys sister. I was surprised. Everyone was. Sanemi has proved that the demon girl wouldn't eat humans and now she and that boy are on a mission with Rengoku right now." Giyu was silent. Sabito looked at the male. "Do you remember giyu?" Giyu nodded. "I'm sorry. This is different Sabito." Sabito laughed and stood up. "Of course. Everything is different now. That kiss was nothing." He went over to pick his blade and placed it in the holding. He looked back at Giyu with a smile. "Take care Giyu" and with that he was out of Giyus sight. He let out a sigh. He wrapped his arms around his knees and buried his face in his arms.
