Aadhya's POV
"I sorry for everything, too, Veer." My voice cracked. I shut the door on his face, locking it. Turning around I slid to the ground, bringing my knees to my chest, processing what just happened few seconds back.
What happened? You just got a reality check.
I sighed and refused to be heartbroken. What had happened, has happened. Now I have to focus on what was in front of me. Veer and mine so called relationship was suffering a rough patch.
I was hurt by his words, but what he said was the reality , the reality I forgot. I had to know all the sins I committed, all the things I have done so far. So that I can push all them behind and start anew.
I mustered up some energy to get up and see if there was something in the closet for me to change into as Di said. Di? I don't know why was I mentioning Maya as Di now. And if I used to call her Di, then why I didn't recall that when I was here last time?
Maybe you only recall such things when you are in the company of the related person.
"May be" I shrugged and noticed that I was still wearing his coat, so I removed and brought in close and inhaled his scent. Creepy, I know, but even his smell had a pleasant effect of me, which I didn't complain of. I smoothly ran my hand over it and placed it on the armchair.
"Veer." I sighed, uttering his name under my breath.
He had the power to make me feel weird things. His one smile sometimes lift up my mood within a snap of a second. But I shouldn't be focusing on that right now. Instead i should be more focusing on what he said before I slammed the door on his face.
I opened the closet and pulled out the first thing I found. Changing into comfortable pajamas and oversized shirt, I sat on the edge of the bed, taking in the entire surrounding. There were only two photo frames. One of me and Maya which pictured us in our teenage. I was back hugging her and both of us were grinning. The other photo was of me and her with a group of fifteen children. It might have been taken couple of years ago. I recognized a boy in the photo as the one who hugged me when I came here first time.
There was a bookshelf on the right side of the bed. I went through them and stifled a laughter when I noticed that all of them were of same genre, thriller and mystery.
Just like your choice.
A knock on the door brought me out of my reverie. For a moment, I thought that it might be Veer. But my doubt was cleared when I heard Maya call me out from the other side.
I opened the door for her and gave her a polite smile. She stepped in, returning my smile. Both of us settled on the couch at the other side of the room. The silence between us was awkward so I decided to break it.
"Maya...um..Di?" I was confused what to say or ask. She smiled understand my dilemma.
"Diya, how are you?" She asked, sounding genuinely concerned.
Oh, so she also calls me Diya like Ishika does.
"I'm good." I fidgeted with my fingers not knowing what to say anymore.
Have you put your bold avatar on sleep mode?
"You know, you can ask me anything, I won't flee away like your boyfriend. Come on, I know that you're dying to ask me questions. So shoot away." Listening her words, I instantly started questioning her.
Let her tell things to you, later you can figure out if they were right or wrong. That if she's hiding something or not.
From the very next moment, I never noticed how an hour passed. She told me about our childhood, our parents. I got to know that our mother died giving birth to me while our father passed away when I was ten years old. We were sent to child care home after that. But then, we had to leave that place too and that's when Vivek Sharma came into the picture. I noticed that she wasn't a fan if him.
