MANY HOURS PASSED with no signs of the spider passing through the forest that was slowly becoming more and more heavily wooded. No tracks could be found. Everyone was beginning to get discouraged and doubted their abilities to find the spider on their own.

Aaron was especially frustrated. He wondered whether he was wasting their time or not. Ahead of the group, leading the Clydesdale mare, his steps fell slower. The others had no choice but to slow down, too.

"Is there a problem, Aaron?" Abner called out to the man in the front.

Aaron's pace tapered to a complete stop. He swallowed, deciding on how to answer as he turned to face them. Looking at their tired and solemn faces made him nearly lose the words he chose carefully in his mind.

"I...I think we need to rethink things."

Clyde frowned, stiffened, and looked over to Abner.

"...What do you mean?"

"We're not getting anywhere. Not like this."

"Aaron—"

"Maybe it's just me. I haven't tracked anything in years." He looked down at the lead within his hands. "I don't think we can do things the way we have been."

"Stop doubting yourself." Victoria urged him.

Aaron sighed and shook his head, "We haven't seen any tracks for the past three hours. We won't be seeing any going in this direction."

"Well then, let's just try going another direction." Emery suggested.

"We should go back and organize a better plan." Aaron added stubbornly. "Maybe even find someone who isn't from Grosvenor to help us out. Because I can't track this thing on my own."

Victoria's expression dropped into a sympathetic grimace. "Don't say that. You're not on your own. You have us."

"Yeah. But last time I checked, you've never hunted or tracked anything. None of you have."

They all recoiled in stunned silence from his sharp words.

"Stop, you're being ridiculous." Clyde suddenly rebuked Aaron. The group was surprised to hear Clyde, the introvert of them all, speak like he did.
