It's been three years since the promise and three years since we have been by each other side. Dallas has been in and out of the cooler and during those times Sean has become like a little brother while I cared for him. My dad died because of liver cancer and his funeral was 2 months ago, I have been living with Dallas and his family since then.

Dallas was becoming mature now, his jaw becoming more thing and shown. He has started shaving and is tall and slim. He looks mature for 13. Through the years he has become more cold and brutal. I am about the only person he speaks about his personal life to. I was okay with that, he wasn't a big fan of emotion. That's what jail does to you.

"You got a weed?" I asked Dallas as we stood on the balcony. He handed me a cigarette and lit it for me. I took a puff out of it and handed it back to him and he took a puff.

"Let's get out of New York." Dallas blurted out.

"You serious? Where to, where would we live what about your dad and Sean? When are we gonna leave, do I have to pack?" I bombarded him with questions. This was crazy leaving New York. I spent my whole life here.

"Where ever the train takes us, let's hop a freight. My dad can go fuck himself. Sean can come with us. Tonight at 9 o'clock. Take what every train. I just wanna leave, please Annabeth." Dallas pleaded with me. I knew it's what he wanted, it's probably what was best.

"Let's do this." I finished the cigarette me and Dallas were sharing and went inside. When I walked inside a blonde about a year older than me made her way out of the door. Dallas just smirked and yawned.

"That's why I came home late." I sarcastically clapped.

"Congrats you're a man now. Come on let's pack our stuff." I began gathering the things I needed, I was ready to leave New York.

Later that night we explained to Sean what was gonna happen and he didn't disagree. He was smart enough to know this was our shot. We made our way to the train tracks with a small amount of our stuff. Getting on the train was easy since it was the dead of night. We got into the freight and waited for it to move which didn't take long. As soon as we started moving we all relaxed.

Dallas pulled out a bottle of whisky and started drinking from the bottle. I gave him a look.

"What, it's gonna be awhile. I wanna enjoy it." He spoke. I rolled my eyes. I held my hand out for the bottle. Dallas raised an eyebrow but handed it to me. Sean lay his head on my lap and watch the stars until he fell asleep. Babbling in his sleep because he never stops talking. I sipped from the whisky bottle.

"I hope there is something waiting for us somewhere." I can only hope, but it was just a dream.

"I got you and Sean, we just needed a change of scenery I guess. I still haven't found that soulmate, and you haven't found yours either. So by obligation of a pinky promise I stay with you. But who knows, maybe we will find them once this train stops." Dallas pauses for a moment.

"Annabeth?" He comes back to reality

"Yeah Dally?" I answer

"Never mind, I'm a little drunk." He only had a few sips.
