[ Edith's POV ]
-
Dallas Brooks... man does that boy know how to pull at my heartstrings. There's just something about him that makes you want to hold him in your arms to protect him from all the evil in the world.
Now ladies, I don't expect you to go out and find a 'bad boy' to fix because they could change you without you realizing it; but I feel that God placed Dallas in my path for a reason. I just know it.
I know he's up and down with his emotions and I know he's said some extremely hurtful things I wish he'd never said.. but how am I any different?
I'm making up my mind to trust God in the process and right now I honestly feel like he has an amazing plan for Dallas, it's just up to me to help Dallas pursue God so he can find it.Dallas is not broken. Maybe a little cracked around the edges, but definitely not broken.
I feel terrible for telling Katie that he's broken because no one is broken. We all just need someone to help us get back to our feet when the going gets tough.
As I sit here on this wet bench watching Dallas talk to his mothers grave I see the potential he has to be a wonderful person, and I know he wants to let that wonderful person out. He's gotten into a habit of holding his feelings back and pushing anger and hatred out instead, but I'm slowly starting to see the Dallas that wants to be loved.
We just have to chip away at the stone to find his true self, because I know it's in there somewhere. This cruel happiness killer is a facade and it's going to go away.

I thought I'd write something short and sweet from Edith about Dallas and I think it turned out pretty well ;)•
