It was nearly a year since I first came down to the Devildom on that fateful night. Nearly a year of shenanigans with the brothers. It hadn't been long after my recovery that Lucifer and I had finally told all of the brothers about us dating.

They all rolled their eyes and said they knew. Asmo squealed with glee. The demon of lust no longer felt the need to hold himself back from imparting his knowledge to us anymore. It often left the gentleman in Lucifer blushing and threatening his younger sibling.

It never deterred Asmo, though.

"Lulu," I cooed, poking Lucifer in the face as he sat at the dining table doing work.

He cocked an eyebrow and looked at me.

"A new nickname?"

Clearly, he was not a fan.

"Soooo, it's been almost a year, and I was thinking that you should meet my parents!" I told him, trying to give off enough excitement to sell him on the idea.

The demon nearly choked on his coffee.

"You want me, a demon lord of Devildom, which is essentially hell, to meet your human adoptive parents?" he rephrased, disbelief thick in his voice.

I clapped my hands together.

"Exactly! Doesn't that sound wonderful!" I said, still trying for the over enthusiasm.

"Bad idea," Levi stated simply from the other side of the table.

I shot daggers at him.

"Shut it," I commanded.

Levi made a face at me, scrunching up his nose and sticking his tongue out. I turned my attention back to Lucifer, all smiles.

"I have to agree with Levi on this one. I don't think that will end well," he told me.

I shook my head.

"As my boyfriend, you have to meet my parents. It's a requirement. For humans, at least."

"But you're not even fully human!" Mammon cut in, giving me the same look as Levi.

I gave him the finger, and mocked, "BuT yOu'Re NoT eVeN fUlLy HuMaN. I don't care. I was raised as a human, and this is going to happen. What did you even tell them about my sudden absence, anyways?" I asked Lucifer.

"That you joined some prestigious exchange program that would last a year," he told me, shrugging. "Are you sure this is a good idea? That this is something you really want?"

"Of course!" I nodded energetically. "But who would really believe that exchange program line?"

"Fine," Lucifer sighed, running a hand over his face. "But this is going to be a lot of work."

I jumped up from the table out of excitement.

A week went by before we were able to coordinate with my parents. Things were much more difficult without a phone. They were excited to hear from me, and eager to meet my mysterious new boyfriend.

I wasn't sure how much to tell them, or where to even start. Should I begin with him being a demon lord of hell, or about me being kidnapped and now a half angel half human hybrid?

We were walking up to my parents house. I wore a dark blue dress with a strappy design on the back, while Lucifer wore his usual three piece suit, minus the evening coat and gloves. His usual wear was much more formal than mine. I had to go digging to find even this dress.

"So, we're just not going to tell them about the whole demon, angel, near death, thing, okay?"I reminded him as we walked up the porch.

Compared to the House of Lamentation, my childhood home was so small and dismal. Growing up it had seemed large and full of mysteries. I could play for hours on the large front porch, or in the yard. Now, after adjusting to the thousands upon thousands of square footage of the House of Lamentation it seemed so much smaller.

Lucifer fidgeted with his vest. He had been restless the whole way up, even in the Helevator. I swear I could even see sweat forming on his brow.

"Are you okay?" I asked before knocking on the door.

"Of course," Lucifer told me coolly.

"You don't seem okay," I replied, narrowing my eyes at him. I grabbed his hand. "It's alright to be nervous."

Lucifer gave a tense chuckle.

"Me? Nervous? I am a demon lord, one of the most powerful there is. Second hand man to the next demon king, Lord Divaolo himself. You think I would be nervous meeting some humans?"

"Yes," I replied flatly. He was posturing.

"I am," he sighed, looking at me with desperate eyes.

I kissed him on the cheek and squeezed his hand.

"You'll do fine! You've got me by your side! Me, Isabel, former human now half angel hybrid. Human expert and Devildom traveler," I joked.

Lucifer smiled and returned my kiss. I knocked on the door as I thought to myself how ridiculous it was that I was bringing a demon home for dinner.
