"Do you accept these terms Tokito-San?"

"Yes."

At age seven in the year 2099, Muichiro had been adopted by the woman [L/N] [Y/N]. A retired government agent who had went through the immortality treatment 60 years prior but had resigned to pursue something else. And in that pursuit, she adopted Tokito Muichiro, an orphan that had gained recognition for having exceptional intelligence even with his early age. Though much to the distaste of others, the woman had no intentions of becoming a mother figure to the boy.

She was instead curious, curious as to if she could shape this gifted orphan into the world's smartest human being, what the processes to do so is, and if she could refine that process.

She was truly curious.

And so, on that day.

A deal was struck between these two great minds of the human race.

"I look forward to partnership then."

There is a value society will place on every individual based on their assets, this value cannot be calculated and is run on an credibly vague system. Most likely due to the fact that it is left as an undiscussed topic by people everywhere, since no one is permitted by society to place a value to another. Unless, of course, if the person discussed's value is exceptionally high, then it is perfectly fine.

The top 1% of society is generally under heavy scrutiny by the rest of us, we calculate their IQ, their wealth, their life span even. We want to know exactly why they're in such a high position in life and we want to imitate it, or rather, see if we can imitate it.

But even as we do not discuss it, everyone still assigns a value to each other, not just the elites, and this value, I had learned at a young age, could be increased.

With the age of technology physical strength became less and less of a prominent factor to how successful a person could be. The world had shifted and intelligence had became the number one internal deciding factor. The are others factors as well; wealth, race, culture, and even pure roll-of-the-dice probabilities are all just a small fraction of what could make you a genius in the world. I had possessed a rather modest though impressive genetic assets; though as anyone skilled in their respective field would say, that is only a fraction of what could make you great, and the greater you are, the smaller that fraction becomes. But if there is one thing absolutely crucial no matter what, it would be my upbringing.

And that was where my modest luck hit a dead end.

Orphaned at age seven and suffering from amnesia all thanks to an accident, I was left with nothing but my above average ability to memorize text and a body that was thankfully left unbroken. But even so, I was practically at the bottom, not many opportunities will find themselves in the hands of orphans after all. The most I could do was raise my intelligence to gain some recognition and increase my chances of being adopted. The most desirable outcome being that whoever takes me in happens to be of the more well-off classes, and if I may be selfish, be a caring person as well.
