Mitch's POV
When we get to Scott's house, we immediately go to his room. When he closes the door, he sits on his bed and gets out his English folder. I walk over, sit next to him, and look over at him. I pull his chin close to me and kiss his lips lightly, but he pulls away.
"No, Mitch."
"Oh. I'm sorry." I say looking away.
"I don't want you to kiss me, Mitch. I thought we were just gonna be friends."
"I should go."
"Don't tell anyone about this."
"What the fuck ever, Scott!" I yell. "I thought you were different."
"No, I thought you were different! I thought we could at least become friends before you try getting into my pants!"
"I wasn't trying to get in your damn pants, Scott! It was just a kiss! What the hell?! God!" I feel tears come to my eyes, but I hold them. "You're not even worth my tears, Scott."
As I'm walking out of his house to walk home, my mom calls me.
"Mitchie?"
"Hi, mom. How are you?"
"I'm okay, but Kirstie called me."
"What did she say?"
"Mitchie, please keep singing. I will always be looking down on you, and I will always want to hear your amazing voice."
"I love you."
"I love you too, Mitchie."
I hang up and walk home. Surprisingly, it took a lot longer than I thought. When I got home, I see Skye on the couch with tears in her eyes.
"Skye? What's wrong? What happened?"
"It's mom.
"What about her? I just talked to her, and she seemed fine."
"She had a massive heart attack."
"Is she--?"
Skye comes over and takes me in her arms. "I'm so sorry, Mitchie."
She's gone.
