SCENE START

SCENE:
THE CAPTAIN IS APPROACHING THE MEDICAL BAY DOOR. THE TWO GUARDS ON THE OUTSIDE STANDING GUARD SALUTE HIM AS HE APPROACHES THEM. HE SALUTES BACK AND WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR. WHEN HE WALKS INTO THE MEDICAL BAY IT WAS SET UP LIKE SOME CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL. THEY HAD THE UNIDENTIFIED PERSON BEHIND THIS GLASS WALL IN A BED. DOC COMES WALKING OUT OF HIS OFFICE AT THAT MOMENT AND SEES THE CAPTAIN STANDING THERE. HE APPROACHES HIM AND HANDS HIM A MASK TO PUT ON.

Captain: Is this really necessary?
Doc: Well, Captain you can't be too careful.
Captain: So what is the situation?
Doc: Well we took her out of her spacesuit and that's when we made this discovery. She is a female.
Captain: She is?
Doc: Yes, and guess what else?
Captain: What?
Doc: Follow me.

SCENE:
THE DOC TAKES THE CAPTAIN BEHIND THE GLASS WALL AND HE WALKS HIM UP TO THE HEAD OF THE BED. HE PULLS THE LONG BROWN FLOWY HAIR BACK AND SHOWS THE CAPTAIN HER EARS.

Captain: Pointed ears?!
Doc: Yes, she isn't a human either.
Captain: I can see that.
Doc: Isn't' it fascinating.
Captain: Yes, it is. So is she like an elf or something?
Doc: Not sure, but it makes you wonder if this where the elf lore came from?
Captain: So did she have any form of identification?
Doc: No, just this necklace. It is an interesting design. I am having the computer run it through our translator to see if it means anything.
Captain: This is fascinating. (Whisper) She's beautiful.
Doc: What was that Captain?
Captain: Nothing.
Doc: Captain come here I want to talk with you.
Captain: Yes, I'm coming.

SCENE:
THE CAPTAIN WALKS OUT OF THE AREA THAT IS ISOLATED AND CATCHES UP WITH DOC. THE CAPTAIN TURNS AROUND WITH A QUICK GLANCE BACK AT THE FEMALE.

Doc: Everything came back negative. So there is no need to isolate her anymore.
Captain: Why isn't she awake?
Doc: Well that part we're not sure. It almost seems like her body went into a hibernation mode.
Captain: What?
Doc: Yeah, her heart rate is beating, but at a slower rate. At first, I thought she might have had hyperthermia, but she didn't. I think discovered she has two hearts.
Captain: Two hearts!
Doc: Yes, two. So after further examination, I realized she went into this stasis to keep herself from starving now doubt. Slow her metabolism down and save herself.
Captain: So she is not injured?
Doc: No, nothing showing an injury.
Captain: Fascinating. There is no way to know how long she was out there?
Doc: Well I could run a test on her clothes for carbon.
Captain: How is that going to work?
Doc: Well there are traces of carbon in space. It builds up after a period of time. Based on how much build-up could tell us how long she has been out there.
Captain: Yeah, let's do that. I'm curious as too how long she was out there for.

SCENE:
JUST THEN SR. OFFICER BIRD CAME INTO THE MEDICAL BAY. SHE HAD THIS LOOK OF EXCITEMENT ON HER FACE. SHE SAW THE CAPTAIN IN DOC'S OFFICE AND WENT IN.

Sr. Officer Bird: There you are Captain.
Captain: Bird, what's wrong?
Sr. Officer Bird: I ran the sample's like you asked me?
Captain: Yea, what were they?
Sr. Officer Bird: Well the burn markings were what you suspected laser fire. However all the burn marks I took the same from were from the same type of rifle.
Captain: So it was more than likely the crew firing at something. Maybe that creature we found in the medical bay.
Sr. Officer Bird: That's what I suspect. I'm still waiting for the analysis on the head to finish, but I did get a hit on the other body parts.
Captain: Okay, what are they?
Sr. Officer Bird: There like her.
Captain: You mean the patient?
Sr. Officer Bird: The moment Doc put the samples into the computer it came back with a positive test result. So whoever attacked the ship did that to her crew.
Doc: Oh, my God.
Captain: I'm telling you, Doc it was bad over there. Like something out of a horror book.
Sr. Officer Bird: So get this, it actually gets worse.
Captain: Worse than that?
Sr. Officer Bird: Yes. So I checked the amputated body parts and the surrounding tissue had petechiae.
Captain: What does that mean?
Doc: It means whoever did the amputation, did it when they were alive.
Captain: Oh, my word. That is so messed up.
Sr. Officer Bird: Yeah.
Captain: Okay. So whatever we're dealing with it's not normal.
Sr. Officer Bird: Which is why I think the head of the creature you brought back is the thing that did this.
Captain: You think that creature is the cause for the body parts?
Sr. Officer Bird: Yes, because after careful examination and the help of Doc we determined that the head was cut off with a...wait for it...laser sword.
Captain: Laser sword?! What are these pirates of the andromeda?
Doc: Certainly sounds this way.
Captain: Okay, well Bird thank you so much for all your efforts. As soon as you get the results back on that creature's head please let me know. I want to know what did this. Because if it did this to the ship and crew it could come after us and we need to be prepared.
Sr. Officer Bird: I understand Captain. I'll keep you posted.

SCENE:
SR. OFFICER BIRD WALKS OUT OF THE OFFICE AND LEAVES THE DOC AND CAPTAIN BEHIND. THEY SIT THERE IN SILENCE AS THEY TRY TO WRAP THEIR OWN HEADS AROUND THE SUBJECT.

Doc: You know I hope we don't ever come in contact with these creatures. I like my body parts just where they are.
Captain: Right.

SCENE:
JUST THEN A NURSE COMES RUNNING IN THE OFFICE

Nurse: Doc, she's awake.

SCENE:
DOC AND THE CAPTAIN CAME RUNNING OUT OF THE OFFICE WITH THE NURSE AND SAW THE FEMALE SITTING UP IN HER BED. HER EYES WERE A SPARKLING BLUE COLOR AND SHE HAD THIS CONFIDENT LOOK ON HER FACE. SHE THEN OPENS UP HER MOUTH AND SPEAKS.

Alien Female: Where is my crew?

SCENE: THE DOC AND CAPTAIN LOOK AT EACH OTHER AND THEN LOOK BACK AT THE FEMALE.
