Scene 9 "Medical Bay" - HSC Battlecruiser Series Book 3 - "Akeena"

SCENE STARTS

SCENE:
THE CAPTAIN, DOC AND THE NURSE WERE IN SHOCK THAT UNIDENTIFIED PATIENT THEY HAD FOUND ON THE ABANDONED SHIP SPOKE, IN CLEAR ENGLISH. DOC PRESSED THE PANEL ON THE SIDE OF HIS OFFICE WALL AND THE GLASS WALL THAT IS SURROUNDING THE PATIENT VANISHES. THE CAPTAIN APPROACHES HER SLOWLY. SHE LOOKS AT HIM WITH THE LOOK OF BEING LOST OR UNAWARE IN HER EYES.

Captain: We're friendly, we're not going to hurt you.
Alien: Where is my crew?
Captain: We don't know...can you tell us what happen?
Alien: I was on the bridge of my ship. We had just completed a mission and then we headed for our next target. The next thing I know is this huge spaceship comes out of hyperdrive...

SCENE:
THE ALIEN STARTS TO REMEMBER WHAT HAPPEN. SHE GOT THIS LOOK OF SEEING A GHOST ON HER FACE. SHE WENT PALER THEN SHE NORMALLY LOOKS. YOU COULD TELL WHATEVER SHE SAW SCARED HER.

Captain: What's wrong?
Alien: Nothing...we were attacked. That's right...I told my crew to embrace for impact.
Captain: Did they fire upon you?

SCENE:
SHE TRIES TO COMPOSE HERSELF. SHE DOESN'T WANT TOSHOW FEAR, BUT YOU CAN TELL WHATEVER SHE SAW IS NOT NORMAL. SHE TOOK A DEEP BREATH AND THEN TOOK HER HAND AND RUBS HER EYES.

Alien: Yes they did, but it wasn't misiles or laser fire...it was something else?
Captain: What was it?
Alien: The Captain of the vessel called them leeches.
Captain: Leeches?
Doc: Like the bugs back on earth?
Alien: I don't know of this place you call earth, but the leeches are piece of machine that the ship fired upon us. They shout lout like these torpedos with these drills on the end. Once they hit the ship we were stuck. One of my crew members told me the leeches were attached to the mother ship by a chain. So it prevented us from running. Then after the first leech attached itself to our ship it started to drill a hole into the ship.
Captain: That explains the holes.
Alien: Yes, the shields protected us from the atmosphere of space, but it didn't stop these creatures from coming in the ship.
Captain: Creatures...Nurse go and get Bird, tell her to bring the creatures head.
Nurse: Yes, sir.

SCENE:
THE NURSE LEFT THE MEDICAL BAY ROOM AND WENT TO GET SR. OFFICER BIRD.

Captain: What did these creatures do?
Alien: They were powerful. We shot them with our lasers. The shots went straight through them, but they didn't die.
Captain: What?!
Doc: That's messed up, how can that be?
Alien: I don't know. After the rest of the leeches were attached to the ship. I gave the order to abandon ship. I had hoped some of my crew would have made it, but these creatures just kept come at us. I pulled out my sword to attack, but that's when the engines were destroyed and the ship started to fail. I ordered the crew to put on there life support space suits. Then I was knocked from behind. I blacked out and the next thing I remember was waking up here in your ship.

SCENE:
THE CAPTAIN IS TRYING TO PROCESS EVERYTHING THAT SHE HAS TOLD HIM. HE LOOKS AT DOC AND STARTS TO FEEL THE SERIOUSNESS OF THESE CREATURES. THE CAPTAIN LOOKS BACK AT THE PATIENT AND SHE IS STILL IN SHOCK FROM THE ATTACK. HE WALKS OVER TO THE SIDE OF HER BED. HE PLACES HIS HAND ON HERS AND TRIES TO OFFER HER SOME FORM OF COMFORT.

Captain: Have you ever seen these creatures before?
Alien: No, I have only heard rumors of them. My people call them death eaters.
Captain: Is that their name?
Alien: No, that isn't their name. It's what they do. They look for ships that would be a good fit with theirs then they attack it for parts. The creatures come on board with the help of the leeches and then they take crew members and make them their own. Once you become one of them, you can't go back to being normal ever again. You're lost forever.
Captain: What is your name?
Alein: My name is Akeena.
Captain: Are you're people from Andromeda?
Akeena: Yes, we are.
Captain: What do you call you're race or people?
Akeena: We call ourselves Yriaf.
Captain: Yreeeaaf?
Akeena: Yes.
Captain: Well I'm glad you're safe and I hope we can help you get back to your people.
Akeena: Yes, I need to return to my home planet to tell them about the creatures and tell them that they are real.
Captain: I understand and we want to help you. Captain is there anything else you need from Akeena?
Doc: No, sir. We got everything we need.
Captain: Okay let's get her some clothes.
Doc: Sure thing Captain, Cadet get this patient some clothes.
Akeena: Do you have a replicator?
Captain: Yes, we do.
Akeena: I would like to get my own clothes if you're okay with that?
Captain: Yes, I'm fine with that. Cadet escort her to the clothes replicator.
Cadet: Yes, sir.

SCENE:
JUST THEN THE NURSE RETURNS WITH BIRD AND THE CREATURES HEAD THEY TOOK FROM AKEENAS SHIP. AKEEN TOOK ONE GLANCE AT IT AND JUMPS ON TOP OF THE BED AND YELLS OUT A NAME THE CREW WASN'T READY TO HEAR.

Akeena (Yell): ZYGOT!

SCENE:
THE CAPTAIN AND CREW SAW HOW THE HEAD OF THIS CREATURE PUT SO MUCH FEAR INTO HER EYES.

Captain: Ziiiiigot?
Akeena: Yes, that is the fowl creature that plagued my ship and captured my crew. It is vile and you would be best if you destroyed that head. They've got a chip in the back of their necks. That chip allows for the ship to find there crew members.
Captain: Bird, did you scan the head for any abnormalities.
Sr. Officer Bird: Yes, sir. Nothing came back.
Akeena: Was their a body with it?
Captain: No just the head.
Akeena: They must have taken the body and the chip with them.
Captain: Okay so we should be okay?
Akeena: Yeah...but get that thing away from me.
Captain: Bird, thank you.
Sr. Officer Bird: I didn't mean to cause any trouble.
Captain: You didn't. Thank you.

SCENE:
SR. OFFICER BIRD TOOK THE HEAD OUT OF THE ROOM AND HEADED BACK FOR HER QUARTERS. THE CAPTAIN CALMED DOWN AKEENA AND STARTED TO FEAR FOR THE WORSE. HE KNEW HIS CREW COULDN'T STAY IN ANDROMEDA FOR TOO LONG. HE KNEW THAT IF THE ZYGOTES FOUND THEM IT WOULD SPELL DOOM. HE LOOKS OVER AT DOC AND EVEN HE IS IN SHOCK. WHAT CAN WE DO AGAINST THOSE KIND OF CREATURES.
