A/N: Hi babes, I'm back once again. We're getting sooo close to my favorite part of the story, I'm telling you. Thank you, as always, for your kind words. You make me so happy!

After rehearsals, Scott went home with his heart a little broken, but he was absolutely sure that he wanted to fix things with his bestfriend. That's why he stayed home for the rest of the day, waiting for him. As it turned out, Mitch didn't come home.
He spent a restless night, trying to listen to every sound so he could understand whether Mitch was approaching the door or not. He fell asleep around six in the morning, when the firsts rays of sun peeked up from the window lighting up the whole room but doing nothing to lift the weight from his chest. He slept, but did not rest, and woke up in the middle of the afternoon with a pounding headache.
The pain in his heart, though, became more unbearable than the one in his head when he saw proof around the house that Mitch had at some point came home, and a quick check in his room told him that he had already left. He felt the sadness crash him even more. Mitch had made sure to come home when he wasn't awake, so he could avoid him. He knew him so well that he probably knew that he would spend a sleepless night and would be dead asleep by the time he would come home.
That thought made him more sad. Then he started wondering where he could have spent the night, and became angry. Probably at his new date's house.
Despite his mood was not the best, though, he was determined to wait for him so they could talk. Mitch would eventually need to come home, and Scott will be there.
Remember how I said that if you plan to do something is really likely that life will just try to contrast you? That's exactly what happened.
Scott's phone started ringing while he was sitting on the couch, trying to distract himself by watching a movie. He took it quickly, hoping it could be Mitch calling him, but pulled a face when he saw Kirstie's name on the display. He loved that girl, but he really didn't feel like talking to anyone. He left the phone ringing for a while, but eventually couldn't stand the sound anymore and picked it up.
'Oh thank God what the hell were you doing?!'
Kirstie's loud voice did nothing to help his headache, and he mentally scolded himself for not being able to ignore the ringing phone way longer.
'I'm sorry Kitty, I was in the shower.' He lied, not really wanting to explain why he was in such a bad mood. Kirstie was an adorable girl, but she was friend with both of them and he didn't want to drag her into their argument. 'Why were you calling me, by the way?'
He heard her grumble. 'I just wanted to know if you're going to take your car for tonight or not, Kevin is giving me a ride and wanted to know what you were gonna do.'
He fell silent for a moment. Oh no what did I forget?! He tried to remember what she was talking about, but his mind was a big blank space.
'Sorry but where are we going?'
'Scott I seriously CAN'T with you! We have Luke's birthday party, have you forgot?!'
He had. He ran a hand on his face, resisting the urge to sigh. He really didn't want to go to any party but at least he knew that he would definitely see Mitch. He needed to prepare for the party so he would come home and Scott would explain himself. He would chain him up if it was necessary.
'No, no, it just slipped off my mind. Yeah, Luke's birthday, of course. I wasn't planning on taking my car, so I think you could give us a ride.'
'Okay Dipdot, I'll see you later then. I'll text you details about the time. And don't be late, Mitch is coming on his own so you won't have the excuse of having to wait for him!'
