A/N: Today this story reached 100k views, which is perfect since I actually finished writing this missing moment. I've been wanting to come back to this story and write something more about the characters for a while, I even talked about it on twitter and was pleasantly surprised when A LOT of you voted yes and even messaged me on private. So. This is the first one of these missing moments to celebrate!

I'm not REALLY sure how many of these will be, or how much you actually care because..well, the story has been finished for a while now. But there are many things I could still talk about it, and I'm sure there are things some of you would like to see. So why not? I'm busy writing other things and with real life, but I always find the time to write this, trust me.

So, anyway. This is set at the end of chapter 28, so of course waaaay before the epilogue. Because we knew what Mitch wanted to say to Scott, but how about the actual scene? :)

As years passed and their relationship grew, Mitch thought he had seen all kind of emotions cross Scott's face. They had been in each other's lives long enough that he was sure he knew every single aspect of his best friend's personality. Every flaw, every quality, every single piece that made Scott.

He used to say that when people would ask the typical So why are you not guys dating question. He would roll his eyes, or laugh, or just shake his head, before pointing out that it wouldn't work. They knew each other too well. There was no more mystery - or so he had thought.

Of course, he had been wrong. There were so many things he hadn't known about Scott - and funnily enough, about himself too.

He would have never guessed how his heartbeat could pick up when he was held by those strong arms in the middle of the night, clothes discharged somewhere, their breathing just calming down after their bodies had blended together, blurring the lines so that he didn't know where one ended and the other started. How Scott's eyes could change color in the middle of a heated kiss, when Mitch was moving on top of him, slow and languid, hands wandering and hearts synchronizing.

How his mind would spin every time he thought about Scott saying that he was in love with him, voice deep and steady, face open and giving - and how Mitch's whole soul would feel teared apart, pulled in different ways by both fear and hope.

There were so many things he still didn't know about this blonde boy that held his heart in his wonderful hands, and he was left breathless when he realized how much more he wanted to know. And that was why, when Scott opened the front door of his apartment - a place that had been theirs for so long it still hurt - Mitch almost forgot why he had gone there in the first place.

Looking into cerulean eyes that he knew so well, he realized his mistake - and a feeling of regret took over everything else.

The two boys looked at each other for what felt like hours, and subconsciously Mitch knew that he was the one that had to speak up, he was the one with explanations to give and apologies to deliver.. But his mind seemed to not work properly, the only thing he could focus on was Scott - who was right in front of him, more close than he had been for the past couple of weeks, so much so that it would only take a couple of steps for him to bury his face on his chest, wrap his arms around him and never let go.

Which was exactly what he wanted - but something was holding him back, his mind screaming at him to run. He stayed still, though, forcing himself to be brave, and that was the moment Scott decided to speak.

"Mitch? What..what are you doing here?!"

There was something about Scott's voice that didn't sound quite right - it was deep, and hoarse, and his face lacked the brightness that used to characterize it. Mitch watched as the blonde struggled to plaster a smile on his lips, but it was easy to notice how it didn't reach his eyes, dropping after a second. His eyes were puffy and dull, not even close to the shining cerulean that he was used to and that he loved so much.
