Miles had an idea. It was possibly the best idea he, or anyone actually, had ever had in human history. Well, in relation to valentines day that is. He had the whole week planned out, day by day. Nothing too obnoxious, Miles Edgeworth was a man of great love but not one keen on flaunting it, but something to show Phoenix how much he cared. This week truly was going to be the best week of their lives.

He arose early, earlier than he usually would, on the Saturday before Valentine's day. It was 6 days until the big day, and he had some equally as big planned. He snuck out of bed, careful not to awaken his still slumbering boyfriend. He quietly picked up an old red sweater off the floor and snuck out of the room.

Once he was in the main living portion of the house, he got to work. Nothing too obvious yet, just so it all seemed random. Little did Phoenix know, this was all meticulously planned. Everything Miles did was. He just hoped Phoenix didn't figure it out before the big day.

He aimlessly grasped above the cupboards, praying Nick hadn't found the box and moved it. When his palm finally rested on the rough cardboard, he let out a sigh of relief. Miles pulled down the box and quietly put it on the sideboard, taking out what he needed for the first day. A scented Yankee candle, some bars of phoenix's favourite chocolate and, truly the icing on top of the cake, face masks. With that, he quietly put the box back atop the cupboards and got to work.

He took the items into the living room and begun setting the scene. He placed the candle on the coffee table, not lighting it just yet, and put the chocolates next to it. Next, he walked back into the kitchen and lit the stove, putting bacon and sausages in one pan, chopped tomatoes in another and finally in the last pan, he cracked 2 eggs and watched as they begun to sizzle. Turning down the gas on the stove. Everything was ready. Well, almost. He quickly grabbed a lighter from the cutlery drawer and went back into the living room, lighting the candle. Perfect. Everything was now ready. Just one thing left now. Phoenix.

Miles plated up the food and put it on the kitchen counter, hoping the array of smells would awake Nick from his deep slumber. He waited, and he waited. He waited for 20 minutes and still nothing. 25 minutes. 30 minutes. Still nothing. Miles looked at his phone. No texts from him either. Strange. He stood up from his seat on the sofa and crept back towards the bedroom, quietly opening the door and peeking inside. There Phoenix was. Fast asleep still. Miles smiled and snook back into the room and crawled back into bed, wrapping his arms around Nick's waist, peppering kisses along the bak of his neck. He grumbled sleepily.

''Good morning. I wasn't sure if you were ever going to wake up.'' Miles said into Nick's soft black hair.

''Hmm. I probably wasn't going to either but I don't regret it if this is how you're going to wake me up.'' He replied, rolling over to face him. Suddenly the smell of bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and everything deliciously breakfast related that waited for him in the main living area of the house. His lips curved into a smile.

''Yes. I did get up extra early, sneak into the kitchen and prepare an incredible breakfast for you.'' Miles replied, grinning back.

''Awwww babe!'' Nick exclaimed, pressing an exited kiss on his boyfriend's forehead.

''Come on then. It's getting cold.'' Miles said, pushing himself up and getting off the bed, walking back to the main portion of the house. Nick followed, sitting down on one of the stools at the table and staring hungrily at the food.

''You can eat it you know you don't just have to stare at it,'' Miles said, playfully jabbing his leg under the table with his foot, ''Actually before you do come look in the living room.'' Miles pushed his stool back and climbed off walking into the living room. Nick took one last look at the food on his plate and did the same, stopping as soon as he stepped in the door. The smell of frosted gingerbread hit his nose and his eyes landed on 4 jumbo snickers. All his favourite things were in one room. He looked over at Miles dumbfounded. He'd done this for him? What had he done to deserve him?

Nick smiled, a warm, loving and happy smile. A smile that showed Miles everything he needed to know. Nick loved him and everything he had done. His eyes welled with happy tears. He opened his arms and walked over to Miles, tucking his head into the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent.

''Have I ever told you how much I love you, Miles?'' Nick said into his neck.

''Hmm,'' Miles said, pretending to think about it, when he already knew the answer, ''Maybe once or twice.'' He jokingly replied.

''Well,'' Nick said smiling and looking him deep in his stormy grey eyes, ''I love you so very very very much Miles Gregory Edgeworth.'' He said, closing the gap between them and kissing him softly.
