To know the god Ares, you must first understand how he differs from Athena.
Both are gods of war, Athena is the goddess of martial skill, of strategy, and of wisdom.
Hers is the voice that speaks reason in the heat of battle, but it is not always easy.
War is glorious, terrifying, and overwhelming. It is maddening, strategy will falter, when this happens...Ares takes the field.
Ares is that moment, when the blood pounds in your head, when it soaks your armor...something else takes over.
To rejoice in death, and destruction...to climb atop a pile of dead men to hold your sword or spear in the air soaked in the blood of your enemies...and want more!
That is Ares.
