I woke up still in the same position in the corner of the bed. My body ached as I straightened out my legs. Clarke came bouncing into the drop ship with two makeshift crutches and handed them to me. "Time for you to leave this metal piece of junk. Now just because you have these doesn't mean you can go walking around camp you still need to rest. I know how hard headed you are so I already told jasper and Murphy" she smiled at me with a wink before she helped me up. We walked out the drop ship Clarke still by my side to make sure I got the hang of it before saying good bye and walking over to Bellamy. My heart raced as Bellamy glared at me from the fire pit. I turned on my heels and headed for my tent. I walked in and noticed nothing new in the tent my heart aching a little. I was hoping to see a smiling Murphy sitting in the empty bed next to mine placing his stuff neatly in it's new place. But I was just greeted by two sleeping boys, who's snores sounded like a fog horn. I laughed at my thought before turning around and walking to the gates to see Harper. "Hey I'm glad your feeling better" I called up smiling at her. She beamed before hoping down handing her gun to someone else. "Hey olivia! I'm so sorry all this happened to you because you were covering for me" she pulled me into a hug and we said good bye before I spotted Murphy staring at me. He was standing near Bellamy and my heart sunk. I wanted to walk over there and wrap my arms around him and tell him he can tell Bellamy to shove it and come move in with me but bellamy's words rang in my head. "I'll break every bone in your body one by one" I shook the thought our of my head before turning away from Murphy and walking to the little fox hole and sitting by a tree.
I was pulling the grass out of the ground when I heard footsteps approaching. I looked up to be greeted with a smiling Murphy. Bellamy's words popped into my head again and I grabbed my crutches trying my hardest to pass Murphy. It was no use though, he stepped in front of me worry showing on his face. "Hey what's wrong" he asked placing a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged him off and tried to push past him but with the crutches it was hard. "Nothing Murphy just leave me alone" I spat as I watched the hurt fill his features. My heart ached watching this irresistible man standing in front of me. "What happened? Is it jasper? Do I need to go talk to him" Murphy asked trying to meet my gaze but I looked everywhere but at him. If I looked at Murphy now I would break, and then Bellamy would break every bone in my body. "no Murphy I just don't want to be around you. I heard what you did" I snapped at him trying to come up with any kind of excuse. Murphy stepped back before turning around and punching the side of the drop ship. I jumped back watching Murphy unfold, he grabbed at his hair, squatting to the ground. "I knew you would find out. I was just hoping you could look past it and see who I really am" he whispered as a tear slid down his face. He turned to walk away but I quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him to me. I dropped the crutches and wrapped both my arms around his neck. He quickly wrapped his arms around my waist to hold me up before squeezing me tightly to his body. "I only killed those two guys because they were trying to take advantage of my mom, since my dad got floated" his voice cracked as I shook my head. "murphy stop" I whispered stroking his hair. "I'm sorry you found out from someone else instead of me. Now I understand why you want nothing to do with me. I will change for you Olivia I swear" he squeaked holding me tighter. I pulled back to look at him holding his shoulders for support. "You don't have to change for me murphy. You are perfect I only said those things because-" my words stopped as the event played through my head again. "Bellamy threatened to break every bone in my body one by one if I didn't stay away" I whispered looking behind Murphy to see jasper looking at me. I nodded to him that everything was okay and he nodded back disappearing from sight. Murphy clenched his jaw before screwing his eyes shut and looking away. "I'd like to see him try" he barked. "Jasper said you could stay in our tent" i whispered a small smile playing at my lips as I looked up at Murphy. His eyes shot open and he beamed down at me. "Really" he practically screamed. I nodded my head as he looked back towards my tent.
I helped Murphy put his stuff in the tent neatly before we heard rushed footsteps coming towards the tent. "Murphy" I heard Bellamy boom outside the tent. My body froze as my heart started to race. I grabbed Murphy's arm before he patted my hand walking to the flap of our tent. He opened it to see a pissed off bellamy. His eyes shifted to mine before he pushed past Murphy and straight towards me. I was stuck I couldn't move my crutches were by the door. "you little bitch" he growled jumping on top of me wrapping his hands around my throat. I started clawing at his face trying to pull in as much air as possible. Before long bellamy's weight was lifted off of me. I sat up quickly coughing as I watched jasper and Murphy pulling Bellamy out of the tent. Monty was at my side in less than a second to make sure I was okay. He looked at my neck and cringed. "it's going to bruise bad" he whispered as tears started spilling out of my eyes. "I told you both to stay away from each other" I heard Bellamy boom, my body going rigid again. "And what gives you the right to tell us who we can and can not see" Murphy screamed. "I'm your leader" bellamy yelled. "Exactly !!! You are our leader not our fucking parents" I heard jasper yell. "You listen to me" he barked. "What happened to what ever the hell we want Bellamy huh?" Murphy barked back. "she is a little pussy weirdo who hangs out with two nerds!!! What do you even see in her" Bellamy asked. I looked down at my fingers, scared of Murphy's answer. I'm not gonna lie I was developing feels for Murphy. There was no denying how attractive he was, underneath his tough exterior he was just a sweet boy who was lost and broken. He just needed someone to give him a chance. Things went silent for a minute before Murphy and Jasper walked back into the tent. I walked straight up to jasper and wrapped my arms around him. He wrapped his strong arms around me and held me close. I pulled away from jasper and looked over at Murphy. He wasn't there though, "he walked out the tent" Monty whispered. I sighed before grabbing my crutches and went to find Murphy.
I found Clarke and asked her if she had seen Murphy. "he walked over by the fox hole" she whispered looking down to my neck before giving me a confused look. I shrugged her off and walked towards the fox hole. Murphy was sitting by the tree plucking the grass from the ground just like I was earlier. "Hey you disappeared on me" I laughed struggling to sit down next to him. "Wouldn't you rather be with Jasper" he snapped. I sighed before grabbing his hands in mine, laughing a bit. "Jasper is like the big brother I have never had, he has always been there for me. He was there when my father got floated. He held me up when I wanted to crumble. My mother showed no emotion the entire time. Which she was the one who got him floated so why would she" I looked up at the stars before blinking away the tears. The image of my father popped into my head. The way his mouth opened and his face started to flake apart. The way his body went stiff and he floated away. My father was my life line. "I'm sorry" he whispered. His words pulled me away from the heart breaking memory, I looked up at Murphy smiling alittle. "Don't be sorry" I whispered looking down at the grass. "No I am, because it may not have been my fault but the memory and the terrifying imagine of watching someone you love get sucked out into space, watching the live get sucked out of them with in seconds. It's something you will never forget and something no one should ever have to see, so for that I'm sorry" he whispered zoning out into the grass. Without thinking I leaned over and placed a gentle kiss to Murphy's cheek. His eyes closed instantly and he inhaled deeply before placing a hand on my thigh and exhaling. "I'm so glad I found you" he whispered before getting up. He held his hand out to me, helping me up. "Let's go get some rest, you need it" he laughed before we walked off to our tent.
