A stab in the dark

Author's note: It's been 4 years...since I've written on this story. I lost interest in writing Wattpad and had other things to do, I guess. I just felt like writing a chapter.

After sorting out her vision, Ella made her way to Aqua, unsure of how she was going to melt the ice. I'm the Guardian of Darkness, not Fire!

How do you want me to help?

Defeat that ice thing over there. That's keeping me frozen.

I'm too weak.

I believe in you, Ella.

I'll try...

:)

Ella, still a little disorientated from the unstable trip to the principal's office and feeling weak from the dark storm and viewing of the spirit world, charged at Frost. "Remove your ice this instant!" Frost laughed, "They're so desperate, they'd send their newbie against me? I'll let you have the first hit on me as a courtesy, then. "

Don't you dare look down on me!

Focusing her mind on the Love-Hate cage vision, she attempted to punch Frost with a dark fist. She was surprised when her fist connected to the cold surface and her hand immediately ached.

What?! This isn't how it's supposed to go...Where is the power I had?

Her thoughts were interrupted by his laughter. "Is that all you got? Thought you were a Guardian!" he taunted. "My turn. "

Ella was still processing what happened when a blunt force pressed against her abdomen, sending her flying against the corridor wall, knocking the breath out of her. She had never felt such physical pain before, as she had only been verbally assaulted by Angelina. Her world spun again, more than when she entered the principal's office earlier.

She slumped against the pillar. It was cold.

Wait, the walls aren't this cold... Clutching her abdomen, she glanced out of the corner of her eye. It was the frozen Aqua. She had been launched all the way to the other end of the hallway.

WTF. How strong is he?! He hits like a truck...

"I believe in you, Ella.

Aqua's words echoed in her head, as her vision darkened. Must. Not. Pass. Out. Ella forced open her eyes. Frost was gliding down the hallway towards her, causing the temperature to drop, chilling her body and mind. I must be strong! They are depending on me. She pushed past the pain and focused on the memories of Angelina bullying her, which had caused her Guardian abilities to activate.

A little dark mist gathered around her palms. The figure of Frost got larger and larger.

She felt so cold. It's...not... going to... work... No! Must!

She poured her pain, physical and emotional, into gathering darkness, clenching her eyes shut. 1 shot!

The cold reached her bones. Her soon to be frozen bones. Her mind blanked out, succumbing to the chill.

Ella. She died on first day of being a Guardian.

The figure of Frost now loomed over her as her vision range shrank even more.

At this distance, she could no longer feel the pain as her body disconnected from her empty mind.

"Now!"  Aqua's voice had returned to guide her.

The power surged like a tidal wave. Planting her hand firmly on his icy torso, Ella opened the metaphorical flood gates. Every light in the hallway simultaneously blinked out. Darkness enveloped everything.

The last thing she saw before it all went dark was purple spikes piercing through his body, originating where she had made contact with him.

"I am the Guardian of Darkness."
