Jenna
You know that feeling of holding your breath for too long?
The feeling of a huge rock just placed on top of your chest? That's what I'm feeling right now, among other things that involves you holding your own breath for too long."Hello?" Mom has my phone pressed to her ear. In case you were worrying, I exhaled . I'm not going to die, not today at least. I see mom making funny faces, wrinkling her face and pulling the phone away from her ear for a tad of a second. She smiled as if someone just complemented her, shaking her head.
I'm sitting across from her wonder why in the heavens is she behaving so calm, it could be that man. Then again if it was him she wouldn't be acting like this so my bet is, it's not him."Ok." She said again , smiling. While I'm here nibbling at my nails. Yes I know, it is considered gross but what can I do? Also giving her my who face. Just imagine.
She hands me the phone and mouths, "for you " and walks away.
"Um hel.. Hello? " I say into the speaker.
"Jenna? Heyy!" Jonah says. I roll my eyes.
"Hi. What do you want, Jonah?" I say, bored. He sounds awfully cheery.
"Oh nothing. I did promise I would have called, remember?"
" Right. " . I was walking out of the kitchen when I heard,
" Nona? Can you pen the cookie jar for ne pweasee? " Huh? I taught to my self .
"Jonah?" I asked. Hearing someone shuffle around and a door closing, I waited for a response .
"Okay bye Jenna it was nice talking to you. " I didn't even get a chance to reply and I heard a beep and the line went dead. I decided not to question how weird those few seconds were.
I continued walking to my room and mom gave me the most biggest smile ever, a mixture of pure teeth and no sign of eyes. I had a quick imaginary palm-faced moment and continued to my room.

I was currently stacking a few packs of skittles in my locker and listening to 'Dance Monkey' by Tones and I when the bell rang.
In the locker room, Bella and I were preparing for gym class as were the other girls .
"So did y'all see the way Jonah looked at me yesterday?" A girl named Naomi said to her friends. It was three of them, Naomi the leader also the one who thinks she's better than everyone, Meredith and Rosalie, also know as her followers, servants, minions what ever you want to call them. How do I know all of this? Let's just say lunch was not the best and paying attention to every other person except that one person that was next to me, was the best idea.
"Yes." The minions replied in sync, giggling.
" I swear, I'm going to get him.. No, no watch me get him. Girls i can feel this is going to be a great semester already. " She said with one of the biggest, proudest smile.
"Yeah, totally." The girls replied, again in sync with each other. Weird much!
"Yikes that's some scary shit." I heard Bella mumbled from next to me while she was fixing her socks. That's what I taught too .
" What did you just say? " Naomi turned to both Bella and I. The three girls turned to us all with an attitude stuck to them. It was like something out of the Mean Girls show. It felt so weird because I was never the one to be in situations like this but here I am. Bella give one of those mocking kind of laughs. She had taken her foot down from the bench while lifting her feet as if she was testing them out like she was getting ready to run a race. I don't know if you get it but you know like those bad ass girls who are ready to fight, just ready to pounce. Yeah!
