The Aftermath: Mission Unexpected (Book 1)

Chapter 4: Unexpected Arrival

They all gathered together in the Avengers base and Steve told everybody everything that happened. But it is still weird talking to a dead guy.

"Wow, I still can't believe I am talking to a dead man. Anyways, Thor would be here any second now" Rhodes said.

Just after Rhodes said that, a blast of light burst through the ceiling and it landed just in front of Steve. 

"Sorry I am late...What's the matter?" As soon as he saw Steve, his eyes glimpsed with shockingness. "OH MY LORDS! Steve, you're alive, and Romanoff, and Tony, and I am not sure about Vision. But you're alive, thank Odin!"

As shocking as it seems, Thor got over with it quickly and Steve reexplained about what happened. Thor's eyes was filled with amusement until Steve said we must go back.

"So, Magenta and Leo, the two evil scientist are experimenting on captives on something. I think there is a reason they stolen us and kept us alive. Maybe, they are working on something that is deadlier than the world has ever seen. Even deadlier than Thanos' Army" Steve said.

"Wait, did you say Leo? He's my friend...well he was" Bruce said

"Let me look him up. Aha, his name is Leo Uvie and his spouse is Magenta Uvie. They are both Russian and they are presumed dead last week." Tony said.

So, with this information, they start to plan their infiltration to the sanctuary. On the way out of the sanctuary, Steve got some blueprints of the Sanctuary that might be useful. The sanctuary has 4 entrances, the north, east, south, and west. 

"We might be able to sneak in the sanctuary using the north entrance as the Uvies are in the South researching. Ya, don't ask how I found out ...... Just go on" Natasha said out of nowhere.

Now, they just need to plan the actual infiltration, what to get and everything. Then suddenly, a man appeared with his two sidekicks, if you could call it that. 

"That, we can help with. Let me introduce myself, my name is Phil Coulson and I am the director S.H.I.E.L.D and these are my agents, Melinda May and Daisy Johnson." The man said.

But Steve knew that S.H.I.E.L.D has fallen, then here is his old friend Coulson. Fury once told him that if S.H.I.E.L.D has fallen, an agent will be promoted to director and he will be your future.

Without further a do, Coulson explained everything and answered all questions from the Avengers. He told them that S.H.I.E.L.D has lost two captives that are both scientists. They have intel that is crucial for S.H.I.E.L.D. They know where the first key drive to Fury's data cache to unlock one of S.H.I.E.L.D's mysteries. 

The Avengers are still experiencing the shock right now, and even Vision fainted. Oh wait, he is still in a deep sleep. Anyways, Coulson led him to S.H.I.E.L.D's base in Greenland. He told them that it is safer there and they believed him instantly. 

So, they came with Coulson and his agents to Iceland with a private Quinjet. After a few hours, they stopped and hovered over nothingness. The avengers can only see snow for hundred of miles. But then, Coulson said:

"S.H.I.E.L.D Block 2, permission to land in Hangar 6. Code: Alpha-Echo 569, Director Phillip Coulson."

Then, a voice said: "Clear, permission to land is granted"

The voice sounded so familiar. It seems that it is somebody the avengers knew. They couldn't be sure right now until they finally docked. When they docked, a man greeted them. He has the same voice from the voice the granted permission to land. When the Avengers saw him, they did not believe what they saw.
