"I can't believe you're already leaving." Sylvana pouts as she fixes up Zach's uniform. "Are you sure I can't come along? Or maybe you can stay here and let the GF handle this."
"This is our daughter, sweetheart. I have to go." He says, adjusting the collar on his neck. "I'll have her back safe before you know it."
"What if it is the Ultima? I don't want you to end up like your father." Zach stands still at the word father. "I'm sorry."
"No no you're fine. Just... thinking about how he went down. This is the time to avenge him."
"I hope you're right. But what if it isn't the werewolves? Maybe she's with her friends."
"She hasn't been answering her phone for two weeks. Her Instagram hasn't been touched since that night. She's a grown woman, she doesn't need to hide from us." He confirms. "And she would tell us if she were going on a trip with them."
"Are you confident it's werewolves? We haven't heard from them in a few months."
"Why are you suddenly hesitant about this whole plan?"
"Because I don't want you to die!" She exclaims, taking her hands off of Zach. "I don't want you to die. I don't want Aphmau to die. I wish this wasn't happening."
Zach cradles her head and pulls her closer to him. "If I'm not fine, Aphmau will be. I promise you, you'll have Aphmau. Even if it means I don't come back. I'll try my best to come back, but no promises on that."
She holds onto him tight, "Just come back. Both of you. So we can go back to normal. I just want my family back."
"We'll be back as quick as we can. I love you, Sylvana."
"I love you too, Zach." She whispers and Zach tightens his grip on her as well. "Be safe out there. Bring her home."

"So you look happy." Aaron closes the book when Melissa came into the room and spoke. "Whatcha reading?"
"Nothing!" He slams the book shut and starts blushing. Melissa looks at the cover and smirks.
"That's so funny. Aphmau recommended that exact same book to me last week. It's weird how you're reading it after she checked it out."
"Small world, eh?" Melissa raises an eyebrow and sits down next to him, pulling the book away.
"This is a gushy romance book. You hate romance books with a burning passion, so there is no way in hell you'd be reading this. And you're alone?" She says. "What interests you now?"
{}
Aphmau and Aaron were laying on the grass talking about anything. "I don't know if it's something you're interested in, but my favorite book is about this girl who wants to study the stars."
"What's it called?"
"When the stars lead to you by Ronni Davis. But I will warn you, it's a young adult super lovey dovey romance book."
(A/N: If you really like romance books, I would ten out of ten recommend you read this book. It's my favorite right now and I am freaking in love with the characters and the plot.)
"I love romance books. So much!"
"Really? You don't seem like the type of guy to read these."
"Don't judge a book by its cover." Aaron makes a pun. Aphmau chuckles then a snort comes out of her. She covers her mouth and Aaron starts laughing.
"Was that a snort?" His laughing only gets louder. She couldn't help but start laughing with him, so she uncovers her mouth.
"I'm so sorry! It just came out!" She tries catching her breath but she fails and keeps laughing.
"No! Don't apologize." He laughs, holding his stomach and mumbles, "It was cute."
{}
"Earth to Aaron. You didn't answer my question."
"So I'm reading a romance book! What're gonna do, sue me?" Melissa leans in and examines his face.
"Red blushing face... can't stop smiling... sweaty palms... all of a sudden into romance books..." She gasps, "You like Aphmau!" She exclaims.
"I do not!" His blushing gets worse.
"Wow you must really like her if you're reading a book like this one." She examines the cover, "You do know the couple makes out every five seconds, right?"
"I didn't notice. Leave me alone, Mel!"
"Why are you so defensive?"
"Because you're making assumptions about me! I do not like Aphmau!" He pushes the book to the floor.
"You're a terrible liar. So that's why you're suddenly into romance." She continues to tease, "That's so cute and weird."
Aaron stands up and adjusts his shirt, "I have to go do... alpha stuff." He picks up the book. "Imma go...give this back to the librarian."
"Whatever little brother."
~~~
"Grandfather!" Jenny stops Michael from exiting out of the front door. "Can I come to the goodbye ceremony?"
"I thought you were into that kind of stuff."
"I know but... I just really miss Aphmau. We grew up together and not showing up is like saying I don't miss her." She lies, but Michael believes it.
"Alright fine but you have to come back immediately." He agrees as Jenny grabs her jacket and her large purse.
"Thank you, grandfather." She pats the bag as Michael opens the door for her.
