I knock on Aaron's door wearing the dress the night I came here and my hair's tied into a high ponytail with a few strands across my face. He opens the door immediately, looking like he just woke up.
"Oh is now a bad time? I can come back later." I suggest but he motions me to come inside.
"No no you're fine." I step inside of his little Alpha den room thingy, I'm sorry, I'm really tired. "So what has you here at 9 am?"
"The werepups want you and Melissa in the middle of town for something we've prepared." I explain, "They're really excited to see how you both react."
"The kids? Prepared something for me and Melissa? Who are they?" I laugh and gently punch him in the shoulder.
"Come on, they're really excited and they put their time into this. Now isn't the time to joke." He throws his hands up in defeat.
"Well, let me get dressed." He says. I then realize what he's in and my face turns as red as a hot pepper. He's in dark gray sweatpants with a black bow around the waist and he's wearing no shirt. Let me repeat myself, NO. SHIRT.
One word: Wow. I think he notices me staring and starts blushing as well. "So yeah um I'll see you at the children's playhouse?" I snap out of it and ask.
"Y-yes, I'll see you there." I speed walk out of there and close the door behind me. Oh my Irene, I wasn't expecting him to look like that. I honestly don't know what I expected.
Not that I've thought about it before! Because I haven't! I promise, I'm not a weird person! Okay okay so he's cute, whatever! I barely know him and he doesn't know me. I have no reason to feel this way.
No reason at all.
Noooooo reason at all.

Melissa waves at me with Aaron right next to her. I shuffle over to them, "Hey, I'm glad you guys were able to show up." I greet them and Melissa smiles at me.
"Looks like you got the whole pact in. Nice job." Melissa comments.
"Yes, this looks like a nice set up."
"Thanks. Now if you'll excuse me for a moment, I have to go make sure the kids are ready for their performance." I say, walking towards the front entrance of the stage to see the kids painting each other's faces and fixing their costumes. "How's everyone feeling?"
They all cheer and howl as a response as they finish up getting ready. Riya runs up to me with a paper card and a single red rose. "We got this for you this morning." I take the card and rose from her and open up the card to read. All the pups crowd around me as I begin.
In green crayon with a red sun in the corner and a drawing of me and the pups holding hands and the wackiest handwriting I've seen in a while,
Thank you Aphmoo for the kinness you have shown us cents we have met you. We love you and never ever want you to leaf us. Sincly, the werepups.
Even though the spelling isn't the best, this note is the sweetest thing I've ever read. "Thank you all." I crotch down and they all swarm me to hug me. We're all in a huddle, holding each other. This place really is amazing. "Now, come on. The Alpha and Co-Alpha are outside waiting for you."
They get all excited as I straighten myself out from their hands rubbing against me. I know the adult werewolves still aren't fans of me, but I do want to make a difference. Show them that I'm nothing like my father or believe in his beliefs.
"You got this, Aphmau." I hear Riya assume me from behind me. I smile and look down at her,
"Thank you. And you got this too."
"Wait! Lemme see something." She motions me to bend down and so I do. She pulls the ponytail out of my hair and it flows down, all the way to my bra strap. She sticks her hands my hair and and shakes it around until she thinks it looks good.
She then take the rose out of my hand and snaps the stem in half then sticks the side with the rose behind my ear. She tucks a strand of hair over the stem behind my ear, "Now you definitely got this."
I stand back up and nod at her. I walk across the stage and stand in the middle, "Thank you all for coming out to what the children and I like to call "Thank you, Alphas."." I get applause from the werewolves. "Thank you, Alpha Aaron and Melissa for keeping the werewolves safe for many years." Melissa winks while clapping and Aaron keeps his eyes on me.
"May I present to you, the newest werewolf generation, The Mini Howlers!" I introduce them as they come onto the stage with all of their props and stuff. I climb off the stage and make my way towards Melissa and Aaron.
I stand next to Melissa, but she grabs Aaron's arm and pulls him right next to me. As a response, me and Aaron blush as the werepups begin. Riya runs to the center of the stage and clears her throat.
"Oh, Alphas, oh Alphas, how thankful we are,
Oh, Alphas, oh Alphas, for how you got us so far.
You keep watch for us, you protect us with all your might,
Care for us, get rid of our fright.
Oh, Alpha Aaron, Alpha Aaron, a brave soul we need,
When no one could do it, you were there to lead.
Now, Alpha Melissa, Alpha Melissa, a strong woman indeed,
The girl who we can count on to finish the deed.
We may not show it, but we love you very much,
We hope, in many years to come, we're still in touch.
We'll reach for the stars and we'll soar for the sky,
As long as we're under your love and protection,
We know we'll reach high."All the kids stand in a line and recite. "Thank you, Alphas, for everything you've done for us to be safe." They all bow. All the werewolves howl and applaud for their children and Aaron and Melissa applaud while looking at me.'
"Oh my Irene, that was absolutely adorable!" Melissa compliments, "I can't believe you wrote that and got them to recite!"
"That was all them, all I did was introduce them. If anything, you should be thanking them." I point her to the stage and she takes off to go talk to them. Aaron stays behind and smirks at me. "What are you looking at me like that for?"
"Melissa might have believed that, but I know these kids. They did not write all of that." He caught me.
"Okay, maybe I wrote just a little." I chuckle and so does he. "Promise not to tell anyone?"
"My lips are sealed." He does a lip locking motion with his hand and he pretends to throw away the key. That only makes me laugh more. "I like this little look going on." He refers to my hair.
"Ah yes this was actually the children's idea." He raises an eyebrow at me like he doesn't believe it. "I'm serious this time, Riya hooked me up."
"Alright, if you say so. But really, you look nice." He compliments me again.
"Thank you. And thank you for showing up.The kids really appreciate your time."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." He responds. I look up to meet his eyes and I catch myself staring at him. He only looks back at me with a small red glow on his face. Now that I'm up close again, something about him makes me so curious.
His eyes. I can't put my finger on it, but something about his eyes makes me want to ask a million questions. Why are they so alluring? What about them makes me not want to stop looking into them? Why are they so different to me?
"You better get up there with those kids and thank them. They put a lot of hard work into that performance." I stop myself from going any farther. "I have to start cleaning up the stage."
"Maybe I could help?" He offers. All I can really do is smile and nods in agreement.
"Thanks." He walks over to Melissa who's praising the kids for their work. I meant when I say there's something about his eyes. I know I know, I sound weird, but I can't word it correctly.
Something's going on.
