//HELLO READERS~ CkR here with some news.
First off.
Chapter 18 is the final chapter, but not the end to this series.
After my hiatus (yes I'm making myself go on a hiatus)
Book three will be here.
So be on the look for "Ohana Means Family."
It will be based on parenthood and the struggles of living as parents with unsupportive parents from both sides.
It will be interesting with just as much drama.
I look forward to writing it and I hope you guys look forward to reading it!
Secondly.
The reason why I'm ending book 2 with eighteen chapters is because I don't want this to become a run on story.
It's finally hit its ending and I don't know where else to go with this without it pushing itself into book 3.
So because this is the final chapter.
I will attempt to make this chapter longer since the last few chapters were pretty short.
So see this as an apology and I thank everyone who's actually stuck with this story and read it.
Thank you!
So until then you guys.
~CkR.\\"What?"
I stared at the other for the longest time.
My heart was racing now.
Did he really just propose to me while we were having sex?
He didn't even look apologetic from how weird this felt.
Was that even normal?
Wait no.
Don't answer that.
This whole relationship wasn't normal.
Ares was Ares.
And that explained enough.
"Marry me." He smirked softly looking at me as if reading my thoughts.
My brows knitted as I looked at him.
"Are you aware of what you're asking me?" I questioned.
He smirked.
"I'm very aware, but if you want it as the normal way." He crawled out of bed as I covered myself with the sheet while he slid his blue sweat pants on.
He walked over to his dresser and rummaged through it before pulling out a white box and coming over to me.
I could feel my face burning as I watched him.
"Rocky Road Sharp," Ares began as I groaned hearing my middle name earning him to grin.
"Six years ago I lost you through a staged break up, and within those six years I saw other guys but none of them came close." He smiled softly.
"It was hard to find a replica of someone you loved for so long, so I moved to Wellspring a few years ago to start a new life in hopes to finally move past from never seeing you again." He looked down at the box.
"That is, until Hyde called me telling me you were working at some club that didn't even sound like something you belonged at." His eyes met mine.
"So I went there just to call that idiots bluff, imagine my surprise when I saw you dancing on that stage." He smiled.
"I had to see you personally so I used Ian's last name so you wouldn't reject the idea of seeing me, and when you walked through the door I was shocked but amazed that someone like you was actually working there." He smirked as I rolled my eyes.
He stood there with the ring but his eyes never left mine.
"That day I fell back in love with you but I became patient because I knew, you were someone different. You were being someone not even you recognized, so I didn't come across as blunt like I did back at that summer camp."
"Sleep with me."
Those words echoed in my head but I smiled shaking my head seeing the younger Ares.
The arrogant and cocky guy who pissed me off faster than Paul could try too.
He always got under my skin.
And he did it on purpose for a reaction.
Which he always got in the end.
"But I waited for you to choose me, because I knew you would." He smirked.
I arched a brow.
"Awfully cocky aren't you?"
He grinned.
"You picked me in the end, you could of had anyone you wanted Rocky. You are probably the most sexiest guy here in Wellspring, any guy would of been happy to have you. I mean you were kidnapped and shot over the fact you didn't choose Ian or Nikolai, and now they'll both rot in prison for even touching you." He looked at me.
"But enough of that, I hate being cheesy and this damn romantic. Rocky, you're mine and you will always be mine. I love you so fucking much and I don't want to lose you, not again and not ever. I want us to be together and I want to adopt brats with you." He grinned.
I sat there with my eyes glistening with actual fucking tears.
He looked at the box then at me before getting down on one knee looking up at me with this loving expression.
"Rocky, will you do the honors of marrying me and becoming my little mouse until we get old and die?" He smirked.
I laughed shaking my head as the tears slipped.
"Talk about romantic." I laughed.
He smiled at me as I nibbled my lip but I nodded as the tears fell.
"Yes Ares Landry, I will marry you." I laughed through the tears as he placed the silver band around my ring finger before pressing his lips to mine.
"I love you so fucking much." I laughed kissing him.
He smirked softly pulling his sweat pants back off before pushing back into me.
I hissed but it turned more into a moan as he looked at me.
"Now you're stuck with me." He grinned.
I smirked.
"Well shit." I laughed.
----
The morning came and nothing felt real.
Not being here.
And not last night.
I lied on my stomach staring at the silver band that was wrapped around my ring finger.
He really proposed to me last night..
My face grew warm as I felt my stomach fluttering.
Holy actual shit.
And I said yes to that jack ass.
I rubbed my eyes before yawning as I looked around.
He wasn't here.
Frowning I sat up before going to the group chat I had allowed myself to enter after Hyde's constant bitching and begging for me to join.
I smirked softly.
[Me]: Guess what bitches?
[Nate]: You're gay?
[Me]: No fucking shit Nate, what gave you that idea?
[Paul]: Probably your taste in clothes not to mention how you eat corn dogs and pop sickles?
[Me]: Wow okay fuck both of you guys.
[Me]: Look what happened last night.
I took a picture of the ring on my finger before sending it to the chat.
[Josie]: NO FUCKING WAY HE ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH WITH IT?!
I blinked.
[Me]: You knew?
[Josie]: I did.
[Nate]: Well I fucking didn't? Why didn't you tell me?
[Josie]: Babe, you can't keep secrets for shit so why would I tell Rocky his boyfriend was thinking about proposing?
[Nate: ... I see your point.
[Jamie]: Congrats Rocky! That's exciting, I bet you're happy.
[Me]: More or less still trying to make sure this isn't a dream.
[Paul]: You could always punch yourself in the face?
[Me]: And you could always punch yourself in the dick-- oh wait, you don't have one. **Insert finger guns.**
[Paul]: Fuck you, Rocky.
[Me]: That's Ares job.
[Nate]: WOW.
[Hyde]: See I was having a great morning and then I come onto the chat I create to find it full of sex talk!
[Me]: Hyde! I'm fucking engaged.
[Hyde]: Oh fucking shit hell yeah!
I grinned.
[Casey]: That's awesome Rocky, congrats.
[Chelsea]: Yeah congrats!
I smiled softly looking over my shoulder to the door that opened to reveal Ares.
He leaned against the door with a smirk.
"Are you going to be lazy or come down to eat?"
I grinned.
"I'm just telling everyone the news." I told him.
He arched a brow coming over and climbing into bed with me as he looked at the group chat.
"Lemme see your phone." He told me.
I blinked but handed it over as he took it with a grin.
[Me]: I won, now fuck off we're going to eat breakfast. You bunch of losers.
My eyes grew wide.
"Ares! You can't say that!"
"Too late, done did." He laughed as I snatched my phone back.
[Hyde]: What the fuck just happened?
[Nate]: Looks like Ares got Rocky's phone.
[Me]: He did, but yeah we're going to eat breakfast. I'll talk to you guys later.
[Hyde]: Bye dude!
I looked to the wheelchair with a frown as Ares glanced to me.
"You know, if it doesn't hurt that much you could probably try to walk on it." He told me now.
I nibbled my lip before placing my feet on the carpet as I hesitated before standing.
Pain shot up my leg but it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.
"Can you walk?" He questioned.
I went to move to only feel my leg give in under the pain.
Ares moved faster than I could blink as he caught me before I met the floor.
"So wheelchair it is." He told me.
I frowned as he lifted me up and walked out of the room.
"Um Ares you passed the wheelchair-"
"I know." He smirked walking down stairs towards the dinning room where the kitchen was.
I blinked as Devin and the others sat in there before their eyes fell on me.
"Oh look its the poor guy who said yes to getting married." Patrick smirked as Anthony rolled his eyes.
Ares smirked at him as he helped me in the chair.
"How many eggs do you want?" He questioned.
"Two." I answered.
Ares walked over to the stove as Patrick arched a brow.
"How are you able to cook breakfast but can't cook actual meals?" He questioned.
Ares looked to him.
"Because I don't usually cook for myself." He told the other at the stove.
I smiled softly but it vanished.
"So I'm going to to quit Bounce." I blurted out.
Ares turned the stove off as he walked over to me with the eggs.
"If that's what you want, no one will stop you." He smirked looking proud of my decision.
I looked down at my plate as my stomach twisted for a moment.
"Actually if you want, you could always come work for me." Ares said now.
"No." Everyone in the room hissed in unison as I hesitated on taking a bite of the egg.
Ares blinked as his eyes fell on them.
"If Rocky wants to work at Avalon he damn sure can, you guys may not like it but no one is going to stop him from working there-"
"No." I cut him off with a soft smile.
He looked to me as I took a drink of the orange juice.
"Ares I honestly think me working at Avalon would interfere with your own work, not to mention you have a habit of playing favorites and the last thing I want is your workers hating me." I smirked at him.
"I'd rather work somewhere where I can avoid drama like that, plus if those girls from Itta Bena work for you. That would cause nothing but problems for everyone, so I appreciate your offer but I'll have to also be apart of the no community." I grinned at his pout.
He took a drink of his coffee before sighing.
"Well, if that's your final decision." He frowned.
I smiled softly.
"It is, but I'll use today to job hunt as well as attempt to make a trip to Bounce to quit."
"Why not just call him over the phone?" Devin suggested.
I bit my gum.
"I'd rather leave on good terms, I actually liked working there but I want something different." I explained.
He blinked but nodded as Ares finished his plate before taking mine.
"If you want, I can take you after I get off work." He told me.
I smiled.
"I actually wanted to go sooner than that-"
"I can take him." Anthony volunteered himself.
I blinked looking to the other blond.
Ares looked surprised but didn't object.
"I guess that's fine." He shrugged.
I smiled softly.
"Yeah, thanks." I looked to him surprised.
Devin arched a brow but didn't say anything as the other's finished their breakfast.
----
"I want you to come straight home after you quit, okay?" Ares requested as he fixed his tie.
I nodded sliding my shirt over my head.
"I plan too, we don't need a repeat." I said now.
He frowned turning to me.
"Maybe I should call in and just take you-"
"Ares no." I laughed looking at him.
"I'll be fine, your job is kind of important-"
"Yeah well you're more important to me." He argued.
I smiled.
"I will be with Anthony, don't worry. I don't think there are any other angry jealous guys out there trying to hunt me down." I told him.
He frowned but came over to me before pressing his lips to mine.
"Alright, just be careful and stay off your leg. Anthony knows to go inside with you and to keep you in his sight." He said now.
I nodded as he lifted me up before leaving the room.
He helped me in the wheelchair as he kissed me again.
"I'll see you later." He told me.
I smiled softly.
"Okay, I love you." I told him.
"I love you too." He smiled leaving out with Devin.
"So," Anthony came up to me with a smirk.
"Ready to quit a job?" He questioned.
I nodded with a smile.
This was going to fucking suck.
----
Anxiety was taking over the moment Bounce came into view.
I was really doing this.
I was quitting Bounce.
So many memories and feelings appeared as I frowned deeply.
I didn't want to quit.
But I didn't want to lose Ares over this either.
He was more important to me.
And we were getting married.
So yes.
I had no choice but to quit this place.
"Rocky?" I looked to Callum who had the door open looking at me with slight concern.
I blinked.
"Oh sorry." I got to the edge as he reached in and helped me in the chair.
I hated being depending like this.
I didn't like being helped or carried.
It was such a damn pain.
Anthony wheeled me into the bar while customers and workers looked my way.
"Rocky?" I heard Gavin's voice.
I looked over to the black haired guy with a frown.
"Oh hey Gavin." I frowned.
He made a face.
"What the hell happened to you?" He questioned.
I rubbed my neck.
"Eh its pretty awkward, but I got kidnapped a week ago." I laughed but he didn't.
I bit my lip.
"And may of gotten shot in the process." I said now.
His brows knitted.
"Holy shit, are you okay?" He frowned.
I nodded.
"Is Darby here?" I asked.
"Oh yeah he's in the back." He told me.
I nodded.
Anthony pushed me past the other as we made it to the back and I felt my chest growing tight seeing Darby talking to Ashby.
Oh great.
This was going to be even better with them both present.
Ash's eyes met mine and he frowned.
"What are you doing up here?" He asked.
Darby turned and his face fell.
"Oh my god Rocky, and here I thought Ash was just bullshitting-"
"Hey!" Ashby hissed.
I frowned.
"Darby, I'm sorry but I'm quitting Bounce." I told him.
Ashby's eyes grew wide as Darby frowned at this.
"Really? Is there any way I can change your mind?" He asked me.
I shook my head.
"No.. it has nothing to do with this place, I loved working here but I'm getting married and I want to do something different with my life." I explained.
Ash looked at me.
"You're getting married?" He questioned.
I showed the two my ring as I smiled softly.
"Ares proposed last night and I feel like working here would only cause problems for us in the future," I nibbled my lip.
"I had the option to just call you Darby, but I wanted to quit on better terms than ending my career over the phone." I told him.
He frowned softly.
"I see." He looked to Ash then to me with a soft sigh.
"Well I hate to see my best worker go somewhere else, but I can't force you to work here. Especially if you're getting married, congrats on that by the way." He smiled softly.
I managed a soft smile of my own.
"Thanks.." My eyes fell to Ash who frowned but forced this smile.
"Yeah.. c-congrats." He frowned now as I bit my lip.
"Ash-"
"I need to get to work, the money won't earn itself." He cut me off walking past the three of us.
I wanted to chase after him like I used too.
But instead I just stayed put and watched him leave.
I couldn't always chase after him the moment his feelings were hurt.
He was going to hurt.
If anything once I'm healed up and can walk.
I'll stop by the apartments to see him.
For us to have a better conversation than this.
I just hope he doesn't grow to hate me after everything.
That was the last thing I wanted.
"Well, good luck on your new job search Rocky and if you ever want to come back. You know the position is always open." Darby told me as I smiled softly.
"Thank's Darby." Anthony pushed me out of the room back out of the building as my chest began to ache.
I quit Bounce..
I should feel relieved but at the same time.
Just seeing Ash's expression bothered me.
Anthony helped me into the car as I crossed my arms not saying anything for the rest of the way home.
I had to push those feelings aside.
I needed to focus on the future.
Which was marrying Ares and working in a healthier environment than the club.
It sucked just thinking that.
But there wasn't anything else for me to do about it.
I would choose my happiness and Ares over anything else.
And I refused to lose him.
I didn't want to get broken again.
I'm proud of my decision.
I will be happier this way.
----
When we got home, Anthony helped me to the study so I could begin applying at places.
Up until now I had no idea where I even wanted to work.
I didn't want to deal with food or retail.
I scrolled through the options on places that were hiring.
Silver Oak High School.
That was just down the road from here.
I know Casey was a teacher for sixth graders over at Willow Park.
And he's never really complained about it.
Well shit what can I lose?
I applied for the High School already knowing I wasn't going to get called.
There was no point in getting my hopes up over something like that.
I knew I wanted to adopt.
But did I really want to teach kids?
I felt like my patience would wear thin and I'd end up getting fired.
..
Nah I'd be fine.
----
Four weeks passed and I was finally free and able to walk again.
And just in time too.
After applying to numerous places.
Silver Oak High actually called me back over the weekend and requested an interview with me.
I was glad I was no longer in the wheelchair.
No one wants to hire you if you're having to wheel yourself everywhere.
Or at least that was how I saw it.
"Are you nervous?" Ares questioned watching me get dressed as I looked to him.
"I mean a little?" I smirked fixing my hair as he got up and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm sure you'll get the job." He reassured me with this confident tone.
I smiled softly turning and pressed my lips to his.
"Thanks." I grabbed my jacket as he followed me out of the room down the stairs.
"Are you coming with me?" I questioned putting my shoes on.
Ares smirked.
"I trust you'll come straight home afterwards." He said.
I smiled.
It's been five weeks since I was kidnapped and abused.
And ever since then.
Ares has had this protective vibe where he treats me more like his kid and not the one he's marrying.
But oh well.
The attention was nice.
"I'll see you in a bit then." I told him as his lips pressed to mine.
"See you." He smirked as I headed out.
----
"Mr.Sharp it says here on your resume that you dropped out of college, was there a reason for that?" The principal questioned.
I sat up straight looking at the other.
"Yes sir, I actually had something personal come up that interfered with my studies. I do plan on continuing college within the next year or so." I explained to him.
He nodded writing that down.
"Would it interfere with you teaching here?" He questioned.
I shook my head.
"No, I would still be focused if I worked here." I told him honestly.
The principal looked at me with a smile.
"We have an opening for the tenth graders as their English teacher, would that interest you?" He asked me now.
I blinked before giving a quick but eager nod.
"Yes sir it would." I answered him.
He nodded writing my answers down with a smile.
"Well Mr.Sharp if you're interested in the position, then it's yours." He stood as I joined him with this shocked feeling.
"I'm hired?" I smiled making sure I understood this guy.
He nodded offering his hand to mine.
I took it without hesitation.
"I look forward to working with you son, I hope this job helps you as well." He told me.
I nodded with a bright smile.
"Yes sir, thank you so much for the opportunity of working with you at this school. I look forward to working here and with you." I told him.
He smiled softly.
"I will see you on Monday." He told me.
I nodded leaving out.
I GOT THE FUCKING JOB!
----
I got home after announcing my excitement to Callum who ended up laughing for the first time in a while.
It was nice to hear him laugh.
But I couldn't help my excitement.
I just got hired at a High School.
..
Oh shit.
I just got hired at a High School..
I felt anxiety rubbing its hands together before stepping in as the house came into view.
Whatever.
I will be a great teacher.
This will be great.
I hope.
I walked through the door to find Ares and the others all waiting there.
I smiled brightly.
"You're looking at Silver Oak's High School English teacher for the tenth grade." I announced.
"Congrats!" Devin and Alex grinned as Ares came up to me smirking.
"I told you that you'd get the job." He smirked pressing his lips to mine.
I smiled softly.
"Want to go celebrate?" He suggested now.
I blinked but nodded.
Ares looked to Alex and the others.
"You guys as well, tonight's a big night." He grinned walking out of the house.
We ended going to a burger joint which was a lot better than somewhere as fancy as Itta Bena was.
I was glad Ares actually considered my feelings from over last time.
This was nice and even though the service wasn't that great.
No one really complained.
"Do you think you'll survive working as a teacher?" Anthony questioned as Devin ate their share of fries.
I nodded taking a drink of my coke.
"I do." I shrugged.
"They're tenth graders, I know how they work." I smirked.
Ares grinned.
"You'll do great." He told me.
I smiled.
"Thanks." I grinned now.
The night came to an end and as full as I was.
A milkshake sounded great.
Don't judge me.
Ice cream always sounds good after you eat a burger with fries.
But based on how full everyone else was.
I don't think that was an option.
It made me smile just thinking about the crazy months that had passed us by.
I started out as a dancer with a sex buddy.
Ares found me and changed my mind over that career.
I fell in love with him all over again.
Got kidnapped.
Got fucking shot.
Then got rescued.
And finally.
Ares proposed to me.
It was a bumpy year but it was a year without regret.
"Rocky." I came to a pause walking out to the car with Ares who stopped us from walking.
I turned to him as he smiled softly bringing me closer to him as his lips captured mine.
"I love you." He told me.
I smirked softly.
"I love you too." I grinned.
Teenage me thought romance was dead and stupid.
Until Ares appeared and then those thoughts vanished.
Grown up me still thinks romance is stupid.
But I don't really mind it when the affection is coming from the one I say I love you too, daily.
I was getting married to Ares.
And as scary as that feeling felt.
I knew every minute living with him.
Being married to him.
Would be worth it.
And I just hope when our kids are at the age where romance exists for them.
They don't hold back.
Because you never know who is going to show up at your job six years later and torment you into falling back in love with them.
But all that I truly want for our kids.
Is that they're happy.
Like we are.
That's all that matters to me.
Oh and ass!
