They all sat in a conference room looking at Peyton. Telling them wasn't ever her first plan but she was always prepared. She had planned on all the possible bad scenarios. Telling the Avengers was a huge risk, yes, but it wasn't guaranteed to mess everything up... she had to tread lightly.
"I'm from the future." she said. Everyone looked at her with tired eyes.
"As much as I want to deny the possibility- we did just fight an army of aliens led by a God so there isn't much any of us can say." Clint said after a moment of silence from everyone in the room.
"It is possible. There is certain Kree technology but I don't know how you could possess such a thing." Thor said.
"With your help, actually," Peyton replied.
"Really?" he asked. She nodded.
"Wait, so you're from the future and got here with the help of Thor. What about the rest of us? Do you know us? Why are you even here?" Captain Rogers asked. She raised an eyebrow. Had he forgotten the conversation they had in the hallway. Sheesh.
"Look, there isn't a whole lot I can say without tearing the timeline to shreds but there's a threat in the future much bigger than Loki or anything else you'll face in these next few years. Big enough that it has to be stopped before it happens." she said.
"And this involves the tesseract?"
"This involves multiple things like the tesseract, yes. Listen, I just need you all to trust me. I can't join in on any major fights in the future. I'm only here to interfere with one major event. Other than that, I'm an observer." she said.
"How are we supposed to trust you? We don't know you." Clint said.
"I trust her." Tony said.
"I do too." Natasha agreed. Everyone looked at the two Avengers and then each other. Bruce was the first to nod.
"Okay." he said.
"If you have future kree technology then it makes since that it came from me.
I trust you as well."
"Well if Nat trusts you, who am I to argue?"
"Okay. Well I guess this is happening."
Peyton nodded, she expected Steve to be the most reluctant and she knew his trust issues would only get worse with coming events but it would be okay, he would soon see, they all would.
I know short and no real ending but I wanted to give you something to wrap up the last cliff hanger so it's not even really a chapter just me being kind- except it XD
