This keeps happening. Dreams of Outside The Building, always ending suddenly and harshly. They usually end when She starts to make larger motions, like swinging her legs and standing up. After She dreams, the White Coat People are always busy, and She has to go to a lot of rooms with a lot of big white things. She doesn't like all the loud noise they make, and all the red lights that give her an uneasy feeling.

One day, She wakes up with a very sore throat. She cannot swallow anything, including her pills. Of course the people in the white coats make her take her pills, but her throat is so sore that She hides them in her mouth until they leave. This pain continues for several days. One would think that several days of a sore throat and not eating would be uncomfortable to say the least, but for her, these days are magical. The first day She feels different. She can see to the other side of the room, and string together words. The second day she feels great. She can focus on objects and think continuously without getting a headache. The next day, She starts wondering things, and begins to answer her own questions the best that She can. She can think much clearer now that she is not taking her pills. That would mean that She had been in an absent-minded haze until she stopped taking her pills. The White Coat People had been giving her pills that mess up her brain. That must mean they are hiding something. She has to find out, but how?

She wants to ask The Nice Lady for help, but She doesn't know if She can trust anyone. So, after "lights out" She sneaks out to find some answers. She wanders around the building with a notepad and pencil She had found outside in the courtyard and snuck inside. She remembered that when She was younger, She had learned how to read. She still knows how, by some miracle, and She had taught herself how to write by picturing the books She had read all those years ago, and copying the letters. She is able to sound out words well enough that She can read back things that She writes.

After a while of walking she comes across a door. It's very big, and there's a box with many numbers on it. There is a blank screen next to the box, and a small, narrow window on the door. She has to stand on her toes to see. She can't see much, but She can see a few chairs. There's another door, without the box or the screen. Another window is next to this door. It is slightly bigger than the one She is looking through. She cranes her neck to see a small desk, with a man behind it. He doesn't notice her, because he is looking directly at a screen with a bunch of boxes, all showing different rooms and hallways in The Building. She recognizes a few of them. Next to him, conveniently folded, is an off white large coat, with locks in various places. The fabric is crossed in an odd way, and none of the locks are in place. A sign above the desk reads "Hazytree Mental Institution". Her eyes wander back down to the screen, and She notices something odd. She sees herself in one of the boxes. The view is from above her. The man at the table seems to notice too. He grabs a small black rectangle and brings it up to his mouth. She turns to run, but it's too late. A guard presses her face to the door as he injects a cold liquid into her neck. The last thing she sees that night is the small window, and the man at the desk looking her in the eyes.
