Torm:
"What is it you needed from me Papa?" I looked at one of my Dads as he ran part of the rebellion around us all. I respected him both as a parent and a man. He was loyal dependable and absolutely amazing as could be. I had been tossed around the adoption center for a while until he and my dad Edd had taken me in.

"There's something I've been meaning to tell you. I wanted to wait until the time was right. I know you don't know your biological parents and that's caused a bit of distress. I can completely understand that. After all I was raised by my grandparents. Anyway the point I'm trying to tell you is that it's time to tell you the truth. Your parents were dear friends of mine. Somewhere in our paths we split into pairs. Your dad was pretty close too, well... Edd was close to them. Some of their history you may not want to know but you need to. Your mother- err... Dad? It's confusing but anyway, he's? She's?" Papa seemed confused about how to explain before he sighed and took a drink of Pepsi his preferred drink of choice. Afterwards though he looked me in the eyes placing a hand on my shoulder, "Kid... Your parent's here. Behind that curtain. I have no doubt that he didn't want to give you up. Your father on the other hand didn't know about you. He's not the best of people. In fact... He's kinda turned his back on the world and is trying to destroy all we know."

I looked at him confused and pushed his hand away from me, "Are you telling me I'm related to that bastard!?  That- That miserable excuse of a human is my fucking father!? How!? I'm nothing like him! I-"

Matt shushed me with a look and shook his head, "No. You aren't anything like him. You took after Tord. Your so called mother. Don't hate him. He's probably the most loving and caring person that you'll ever know. Years after you were put up for adoption he'd break down crying wishing he wasn't afraid to keep you. It was for your own good though that he didn't. Thomas... The blue leader? If he knew you existed? I swear he would have either had Tord miscarry or he would have forced you into his army. There may be a spark of good in him somewhere but believe me I'm pretty sure that part is so buried that it can't come back. If it comes down to it you might have to face him in battle. Just do what's right. He's not as he once was, and to be honest I believe he'd lost his mind in one way or another after joining the army. I think sadly the best way to help him is to put him out of his misery."

"So, my father's a complete maniac. Good to know. Just what I needed." I scoffed and looked away from him not understanding how someone could be a part of me like that. Me! The son of a Crazy Commie Bastard that wants to take over the world! Fucking lovely!

"Hey, you have wanted to know your history. I told you. It's not like you have to follow in his footsteps. You are your own person. A young man that has been a respectable leader in your own way. If anything happens to me or to any of the men and women running the rebellion promise me something... It's extremely important."

"What?" I looked at him coldly trying to process all of the information I'd just been told.

"Look after the rebellion and don't leave Tord on their own. He's tried to find you. Believe me... He has, it's just that he hasn't had the safety and security to reach you."

"Sure."

Papa looked closely at me and narrowed his eyes, "I mean it. You watch over him. Never leave him behind. I get that you haven't had the chance to spend time with him. Give him a chance you may never know where it'll end up. That's an order."

"Yes sir..." I looked down and took a deep breath before shifting my weight side to side nervously, "So, What's he like?" My gaze switched from Papa back to the curtain behind him anxious and excited all at once.

"He may be hard around the edges but, Over all? Tord will never give up on what's right. One way or another, he comes home." Papa looked behind him with what almost seemed to be a gaze of longing that I couldn't help but overlook.

"Did you two ever... You know?"

"No." Papa instantly went into defense mode and looked away, "We were never an item if that's what you're wondering. Just- just close friends." He gathered his things and stepped back from where we'd been standing before speaking again, "I have to get going. Stay here and wait until he wakes up. Understood?"

"Of course."

With a quick nod he looked at me and to the curtain before shaking his head and walking off. I watched in confusion for a moment before drawing back the curtain enough for me to enter the space.

The sight I met was shocking and painful. In a way I was glad to meet him even though I'd expected someone more... Feminine I guess you could say. I did take after him a bit though. His skin tone was tan and his hair shared the same horn like tuffs that stuck up on their own. The color of his hair was a bit darker than mine a more red brown than my strawberry blonde. He looked rough, a bit of stubble on his chin, bruises and marks all over him. He was bandaged pretty well. Even so, he looked at peace in his sleep on the bed.

There was something strange though across his eyes. A device that read Error across it in red lettering. Oddly it reminded me of the goggles that the rebellion had designed inorder to restore eyesight. We're further ahead in our technology than the rest of the battlefield. We may not have the strength but we have the minds of geniuses among us. It makes up for what we lack in numbers.

Shakily I reached out to touch them taking a deep breath as I turned them off and removed them. His eyes behind them looked like he'd been hit by something and left scars of burn marks and cuts. I carefully set them to the side trying not to make a noise but set them down a bit too fast hearing them clatter on the night stand. I looked at the goggles and was shocked when he instantly woke up and put me in a headlock blind as could be.

"Who are you!? And where am I?"

"Ow! You're safe! In the rebellion! Let me go! Please! I promise you're safe." He froze a moment but loosened his grip enough for me to slide out.

"T-Tom?"

'"Pfft. As if. I would never associate myself with that bastard in my life. Even if I learned some history I never thought I'd ask to erase from my mind." Tord held his arms close to his chest and opened his eyes that were as dark as one of my own. Interesting trait... So that's where I got it from.

"Where are my goggles?"

"I think they were busted. They errored out. I can ask for another set of you like?"

Tord turned his head slightly in my direction tilting his head, "They- they have an Error?"

"Yeah. It said right across the screen that-"

He seemed to be listening closely to something and reached out towards the goggles on the desk feeling his way to them. When he held them in his hands he brushed across the screen and froze in place, "You need to get rid of these. Now. You have exactly 2 minutes. Blue set these up after a rebel soldier passed. Trust me. Get them as far away from her as possible. It was to guarantee that I didn't leave. If you don't lose them they'll destroy the whole base. Do you understand?"

Wow... He speaks differently than I thought he would. I swear it's almost as if he could lead an army himself.

"But I was told to say with y-"

"Stay with me now and watch as Blue gets his way. You stay here and don't take this somewhere as soon as possible you're all going to be gone. He knew if I left I'd run right here. A minute and 15 seconds. Your choice. Live or die. I don't think you'll prefer the second choice."

I looked at him confused but took the goggles in my hands and ran out to grab a portal gun sending it through a ways from the base before coming back. Just as he said though, in the distance an explosion that may as well have been enough to destroy the whole base went off.

"Holy shit..." I looked at the cloud it left and backed away from where I was. The father that didn't even know me tried to kill us all. If it wasn't for my- if it wasn't for Tord we would all be dead. Perhaps Papa was right? Maybe we can actually trust him.
