Chapter 15: Scary In Chains

“Shifter?” Ellen asked knowing exactly who it was behind the bars.

“No. I tried silver. Watch.” Ellen had no choice but to watch as Creedy pulled a silver knife and ran it across her arm. Blood dripped down the cut but Tyler didn’t flinch. She just glared at Creedy who had her trussed up like a mummy. Her wings were held back by nets that were nailed to the back wall completing the look.

“Damn. That rules out a lot.” Ellen said looking at Tyler and trying to think of a way to get Creedy to undo the chains.

“And it gives me the creeps.” Creedy said. “Caught it in Bobby Singer’s house, poor fellow probably didn’t realize he had something living with him. It’s good at hiding it. But I checked it’s back and there was a tattoo of wings. Then they popped out.” Creedy explained. Ellen watched Tyler stare icily at Creedy like he wasn’t even worth her time. Tyler just glared. Her eyes were still crystal blue but instead of looking vaguely interested they were daring Creedy to let her lose. Daring him to see what happened.

“So you think it’s something new?” Ellen asked the man.

“I’m not sure what to think but I know better than to try killing it without knowing what it is.” Creedy answered poking Tyler with a stick that had an electric current running through it. Ellen watched Tyler tense but she didn’t make a noise. “See what I mean?” Creedy said.

“I do. It’s a tough son of a bitch.” Ellen said looking at Tyler. Tyler turned her glare on Ellen and the older hunter thought she was going to freeze.

“Knock it off.” Creedy said poking Tyler again. There were burn marks on her right arm. Then Tyler spit the gag out. She’d ripped it a little with her teeth, enough that it had loosened the gag so it hung around her neck and Ellen could see the teeth marks.

“What was that?” Ellen asked as Creedy watched Tyler.

“I’m assuming one of it’s powers. First time it looked me in the eye I thought I was going to die. You gonna help me put that gag back in?” Creedy asked.

“So the roadhouse is it?” Tyler asked.

“Shut up you piece of filth!” Creedy said smacking Tyler across the  cheek. Tyler let her head hang at an angle and then she lifted her head and glared at Creedy again. Ellen watched as Creedy took in a shaky breath and took an involuntary step back.

“How do you know about the roadhouse?” Ellen asked her hoping Tyler would play along.

“I expected more of you Ellen. Working with this brainwashed bitch was not something I expected of you.” Tyler shook her head. Clearly Ellen was going to have trouble with this one. Ellen knew Tyler was a paranoid hunter. One of the best but beyond paranoid. Most people didn’t know her name but most hunters knew of her. Because once you ran into her you didn’t forget.

“And I expected you to be human.” Ellen said hurting as she said the words. She knew she had to play along but she didn’t want to. A heart chilling laugh rang from Tyler’s lips. “I guess none of that matters now though does it?” Ellen taunted Tyler. Tyler’s eyes screamed of rage. Her muscles tensed and the rope around her waist moved sounding like they were drawn taunt.

“You know it?” Creedy finally asked. Tyler sneered at him.

“Of course she knows me. You do too. I’m a legend in the hunters world. How many more monsters do you think are going to ravage human civilians now that I’m not out there? Huh Creedy?” Tyler dragged out Creedy’s name. She leaned towards the man who was probably an inch shorter than her.
