Chapter Seven (Pt. 2) :

*Micah's POV*

"I still think you should reject her."

My best friend, Brody, sat next to me ; half of his attention trained on our heated match of Call of Duty, the other half on the conversation at hand.

"And why is that?" I paused our game and turned to him. We'd been arguing over this since I told him I'd found my mate.

"Because, she's human. Do you really want to go through the hassle of having to introduce her to our world, tell her that she's your mate, and have to be the one to turn her in the future? Sounds like a bit too much trouble to me." He sat back with a stony expression on his face.

"Plus, who will be my party buddy? We both know you love going to the local nightclubsyand being swarmed by girls. Do you really want to give up not only being free to do what you want, but fun and girls as well?"

I thought it all over for a moment.

He does have a point, sounds like a hell of a lot of work ; & for only one girl? Why give everything up for one girl when I can have any girl I want & more? Maybe having a mate isn't for me, maybe I should reject her.

I leaned back and ran a hand through my hair, 'causing a few stray pieces to fall into my face.

Brody offered a cheesy grin and punched me in the arm playfully, "Even though we both know I'm right, don't beat yourself up over it. Now, the night is young & there are plenty of girls begging to be bedded tonight. Let's go get some!"

I couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm & nodded.

This'll get my mind off of things.

Brody got up from the couch and bowed in an over exaggerated manner before holding out a hand to help me up, "Which club shall we go to my liege?"

I rolled my eyes & swatted his hand away, "21 & Under, duh."

He seemed quite happy with that answer and fist pumped.

"Maybe I can hook up with that redhead I met last time." He waggled his eyebrows & I laughed.

Maybe Iris will be there again? .. NO, we're going to reject her. There's no way I'm giving up my life for one girl. Having a mate, let alone a human one, is too much trouble.

I shook my head to clear away the thoughts and went to grab my jacket and keys, "Come on, the girls are waiting."

Brody smiled wickedly at me and I smiled back.

Time for some fun.
