After a few minutes of black, there she is. Every time she was there I could never understand why I dreamt of her. I knew I had to figure out what my subconscious was doing to me.
"Mom??" I said with a questioning tone. Ever since we lost her, ever since I lost her. I couldn't stop dreaming about her.
"Brenton." She said, in a soft sweet tone that she always had. She had actually talked back to me. She heard me.
"What are you doing here!?"
"What do you mean 'what am I doing here'? I'm your mother. Can't a mother watch over her son once in a while?" She said in an almost humorous tone that made me smile. I smiled. I don't do that much. Only when I see Reese, those are the only times I smile. And right now.
"Ya, I guess." I said.
"Who is she?" She asks.
"What do you mean who is she?"
"You know who I'm talking about." She says. "What's her name?"
"Reese." I said.
"She's beautiful." I'm glad mom knows who she is and thinks she's beautiful. "Don't let her go, okay. A real boyfriend would never hurt his girlfriend." I took what she said into account. Even though it wasn't like I had any plans to hurt her. I love her.
"I know, mom." She nods her head and puts her hand on my left cheek.
"I know you know. You're a good man." She didn't say boy, she said man. She's come to the conclusion that her son is growing up and there is nothing that she can do about it.
"I miss you. Dad isn't himself anymore. He drove Luke away and I don't want him to drive me away, but he's so close. It's not the same without you." I said.
"Of course it's not the same without me. Don't mind your father, his stubbornness is heightened because he lost me, you all did. But he still loves you, he doesn't want to see you fail, and I don't either, but you're right, I would handle things differently." Her words of wisdom didn't exactly change the way I felt about my dad, my dad was still an ass, whether she liked it or not. But she would have to accept the fact that ever since she died, he isn't the same Michael Samson anymore. "I love you, Brenton."
"I love you too, mom." I said. Suddenly my vision of her was blurry, and all I heard was a faint noise calling my name.
"brenton, Brenton, BRENTON!" I woke up as the noise had become loud. I opened my eyes to see my dad standing in the doorway calling my name.
"Why are you sleeping?!? Homework! Chop, chop!" He says.
"Sorry, must have fallen --" I started to say as I rubbed my eyes, then I saw he was gone and wasn't listening to me. What else is new?
I decide to text Reese because I was bored and to be honest, did not want to listen to dad and do my homework that I had in the first day of school which was ridiculous.

So that's chapter 6! Sooooo sorry I didn't put this up yesterday. You know how Monday's are. So I'm changing the schedule... Tuesday's and Saturdays is when I'm posting updates. I think that'll work for me better. So with the story, I know it's weird that he is talking to his dead mother in his dreams, but trust me things are gonna get real in Laguna beach, ca soon!!
