I never suspected that I would walk into a dimly lit seduction room. There are candles everywhere. Rose petals make a straight trail to the bed covered in more of them. How does that work? Do I have to shove them away or lie on them? And more importantly, Aden had this made for me.

"Are we hosting a ritual?"
Aden burst out laughing as I giggle.
"I didn't realise we decided on a date."
I watch one of the flames dance as we walk past it.
"I wanted you surprised."
"I am that."
He trails my back and turns in me in his arms, so I face him.
"Aden, I don't want to do this today. I'm sorry."
He stops and stares at me shaking like a leaf. He instantly seats me down on the chaise longue by the corner of the room.
"Are you afraid? You know you can talk to me, right?"
"Well, I'm afraid for two reasons."
"Okay."
He bunches up the duvet filled with rose petals and deposits them in the corner, allowing space for us to sit together on the bed.
"The first is that I'm not ready. I feel a little ambushed."
"I didn't mean to-"
"No, it was a misunderstanding. You couldn't have known after we almost had sex in my bedroom. But I just suddenly want to plan it."
Aden can't even hide his grin.
"Plan it?"
"You got to plan it." I grumble at his derision.
"Alright."
"By the way, did you take care of the protection part of things because I haven't."
"I did, and I'm guessing the next question is about whether I've been tested. I have. I have the file on my cloud account if you want to see it."
"Yes, second: I don't want to have sex when we don't know what we are; not with what we said to one another."
Aden nods.
"So, are we going to address those issues?"
"Actually, I've changed my mind. We shouldn't do this now. We shouldn't delay having sex for long. We'll regret it. Sex is fun."
"Alright," I roll my eyes.
"Is that grass growing on your skin?"
"I just don't need to hear about it like that."
"Do you trust me to not take advantage of you?" he asks gently.
"I do."
"Then, we should have sex as soon as you're physically ready."
