Chapter 1

I had never known that being so honest could feel this amazing. It wasn't as if I was dreading it after my talk with Andi and Buffy, but I knew that it was going to be a big moment.

I was so happy that Jonah accepted me, and that made everything much easier. He was the first guy I revealed my sexuality to, and I wasn't going to forget it.

The day after the Shiva, I was walking down the road, enjoying the cool breeze when I saw Jonah. He was alone and seemed to be relaxing on a bench, so I decided to join him.

"Hey Jonah!" I greeted happily "Can I sit here?"

"Sure Cyrus" he responded "You don't have to ask"

I took a seat and Jonah smiled at me. I can't tell you how nice it was that I didn't have to hide anything from him anymore.

"So, what ya doing?" I asked.

"I'm just chillin' dude" he answered.

"Awesome" I commented "I was just walking, nowhere in particular"

"To clear your mind?" he wondered "I do that too"

"Yes, it makes me feel better" I replied "I can forget about everything and just enjoy the peace"

It was so quiet, I hadn't seen anyone else for ages, but it was nice because when I was alone with Jonah, I could just talk about anything.

"So, I was wondering" I began "If we could talk about what I told you at the Shiva"

"Of course we can" he agreed "If you ever want to talk to anyone, you can always talk to me"

"Really?" I retorted.

"Well, you've always helped me through my panic attacks" he explained "So I will always support you with everything"

"Thank you" I mumbled, feeling my cheeks go red as I blushed.

He gave me a big smile, one that showed his dimples. I loved looking at his face when he smiled, it made me feel better.

"So, what would you like to talk about" he persisted.

"First, I just wanted to say thank you" I uttered "You are the first guy I ever came out to"

"I'm very touched that you told me" he rejoined "But never feel like you have to change for anyone, just be you"

"I intend to" I pledged "You and the girls are like my second family"

"Aww, you're so sweet" he chuckled "Does that mean Andi and Buffy already know?"

"Yes, and now that you know, I feel better" I declared.

"Good, I'm glad" he reacted.

I was about to continue when his phone rang. I waited whilst he answered, but after a few moments, he was finished.

"Sorry dude, I've gotta go and see Libby" he explained "But, we've gotta hang out again later, deal?"

"Deal" I agreed "See you later"

He gave me a hug, and it was nice to be held for a few moments. I watched as he walked away, but he turned back and gave me a small wave.

I noticed that it was 2:15, and I was supposed to meet the girls at the spoon at 2:30, so I quickly hurried to get there.
