You leaned back into your bed, letting your eyes close. You were finally home. The scents, the lights, the atmosphere had calmed you the minute you entered your room.
Shoto Todorki, son of Endeavor with an unlikely 50/50 Quirk of fire and ice. Or at least... that's what Midoriya had told you. "Everything about his appearance is split in half." Midoriya whispered, excitement in the tremble of his clenched hands. "His hair is half red and half white, one of his eyes is exactly like Endeavors while the other is a greyish brown."
Eijirou Kirishima, a confident red-haired boy with a Hardening Quirk, "I hope I get to see it in action some more," Midoriya said, grinning as he held up his notebook. "Do you think it works as some kind of armor? Compared to some other students he barely has any scars, except for the one on his eyebrow. I think you'll like him. He's really nice."
You haven't met the guys yet, but based on their descriptions, they didn't sound too bad. Iida... Ochako.. Tsuyu. Their names were running through your head, clogging up the room in your mind that was usually overwhelmed by exhaustion nowadays.
"Iida's super cool but he's a little intense when it comes to rules. He's also one of the only students with glasses in the class!" He chirped, listing off his fingers, "there's someone named Tokoyami and his Quirk really isn't as bad as he seems to make it up to be. He has a sentient being attached to him called Dark Shadow. Can you imagine what it must be like having another consciousness attached to your own that develops stronger qualities in the darkness?"
Then the boy continued to ramble on about the Quirks of his other students. He placed a finger to his bottom lip and stared at the floor, his green eyes wide and glazed over in thought. You had chuckled, just barely making out what he was saying.
Then a voice distracted you. "You do it too."
You looked up, your eyes widening. "W-Wha?"
A woman stood at the entrance of my room, an amused grin playing on her fair face. Her black hair was tied up in a ponytail that had grown loose from all her cleaning in her house. Her familiar grey eyes were twinkling, a smug shine to them as she arched one eyebrow. You quickly smiled, seeing her. She wasn't your real mom. But she was the best thing you had.
"You were talking out loud kiddo." She retorted. "Just like your weird little friend, you ramble to yourself."
You blinked, tugging at your lips.
"..Touché..." You aknowledged with a nod, a soft sigh escaping you. "Mayuki.. you.. scared me, not gonna lie." She always had this tendency to sneak up on people, but then again that was kind of what her Quirk was for. A good Quirk when it comes to scaring the living hell out of your children. "Do you need someth-?"
"You applied for U.A. correct?"
You frowned, wondering why this was her chosen subject of the conversation. She knew how you felt about the whole thing. But you weren't as angry as you were confused. Why did she require clarification?
