"I am Tenya Iida!"
You nodded in response to his sharp bow, noting his mannerisms. He seemed surprisingly polite for his rather intense exterior. This was the blue-haired boy. The one with the glasses and the carefully chosen words. You couldn't help but smile a little bit. He was rather articulate for someone in the Hero course but.. after a few moments of thought, you decided to diss the stereotypes.
Fueled by determination but still humble, you finally decided on.
"I'm Kuroki."
He popped back up, his posture straighter than a ruler. "You were from the Entrance Exam!" He declared as Ochako and Izuku began to eat their lunch. Beknownst to you, Izuku's green eyes perked up. "Just below Ochako-san in the rankings if I remember correctly," Iida said, leaning against the cushioned booth.
You blinked, looking up at him. Did he really check the rankings so clearly? You had only observed who was above you. After all, those were the ones who proposed more of a threat. "T-That's correct-"
"You were in fourth place?" Ochako suddenly asked, looking up from her bowl of rice. However, her voice was muffled and a bit of rice was clinging to her lower lip. With a little smile, you gestured to your own bottom lip with a finger and she blushed as she pulled away the bit of rice.
"Well... if you were in third then yes." You said simply, watching as the rice rolled off the table. "I got fourth place.. with how many points though? I don't really remember." You added in sheepishly before they could question it.
You then turned to Midoriya, pulling open your lunchbox. "What about you, what rank did you get?"
However, you were quickly taken back at his expression. The green-haired boy appeared distraught, his eyebrows furrowed against each other as he stared at his bowl of rice. "It doesn't matter." He whispered, sounding oddly defeated and unfocused. "Even though I've been chosen as class rep, I don't know if I'm qualified for it.
So that's what this was about.
You pursed your lips and began to stuff your mouth with rice. Unfortunately, though, you couldn't help but agree with Izuku. Sure, he was determined with himself to his own account but leading people that he didn't even know too well? With someone like Katsuki to deal with as well? You almost felt sorry for him, but you weren't about to make it worse by agreeing with his doubts.
But also, knowing Midoriya meant coming to terms with his ambitious plans. You offered him a confident smile as his eyes turned to you, desperation clawing at his iris. "You'll go great," You mouthed, grinning at the little blush of red on his face.
"You are definitely qualified for it Deku-kun!" Affirmed Ochako brightly, her pink cheeks puffed with rice.
"You'll be fine." You turned to Iida as he spoke. "Your courage and judgment at critical moments make you worth following. This is why I voted for you."
