A/N Sorry I haven't been updating this a lot! I haven't been very inspired to write this with all the stuff going on in my life. The only time I have to write is during study hall. Sorry about the lack of updates!

We all entered my house through the front door. We all squeezed onto the couch, except for Sophie, who stood. She turned to me, took a deep breath and said

"It's time for you to apply for Foxfire."

"But I'm half human! I thought I couldn't go to Foxfire!" I exclaimed, feeling nervous. I'd have to leave one or both of my parents behind if I was to go to Foxfire. "That would be the case if you were not very powerful." Sophie said, "But you have not one, but three special abilities." "Three?" I say confused, "I thought I only had two." "I thought it was just two as well, but I wondered if you were a polyglot. We've been speaking in the Enlightened Language since we got inside. "Really?" I said. I tried to listen for a difference, but It just sounded like normal English. It explained why I'd been fluent in French ever since I found out I was an elf. I'd just thought it was a normal elf thing.

"Now we need to find out which one of your parents is the elf. I've prepared a simple way to find out." She took out a bottle of blue liquid. "It does nothing to humans, but with elves, it makes their hair blue for three minutes." "How will we get them to drink it?"

"Simple. We make a cake."

An hour later, Keefe was covered in flour. "How are we supposed to clean up this mess!" I complained to Sophie. She grinned. "This is the fun part. She closed her eyes for a moment, and I realized she was transmitting to someone. All of the sudden, all of the mess vanished. "Conjurer?" I asked. Sophie nodded. "Who's the conjurer?" I asked. "My mom Edaline, well my adoptive mom." Sophie replied. I smile "I hope I get to meet her one day!" "You'll love her, she makes the best ripplefluffs." Keefe butts in. Just then, we hear the garage door open. "Quickly, hide!" Sophie whisper-shouts to everyone except for me. She quickly hands me the cake and rushes to hide. Biana just vanishes. The door from the garage opens and my parents walk in. "Hi mom, hi dad. I made you a cake!" My father's face lights up. "Cake? I love cake!" My mom laughs and goes to get a knife. "I'll cut it." I say as she hands me the knife. I cut a medium piece for each of my parents.

"Don't you want some y/n?" My dad says. "No thanks, this cake is alll for you!" I reply. They both take a bite. Two seconds pass... and my mom's hair turns blue. "So you're the elf." Sophie says coming out of hiding. My dad stares at me, open mouthed. "How did you find out?!"

"I manifested three special abilities" I say.

My mom is still. "I guess this means you must go to Foxfire..."

I look at my feet. "Yeah..." I hadn't thought about it. If I went to foxfire, I'd have to leave one or both of my parents behind. I wasn't so sure if I wanted to go.

But if I don't go, I won't see keefe for a long time, or maybe never again.

I take a deep breath. "Mom, dad, I love you guys, but I do want to go to foxfire."
