The Beach

Day 2

I open my eyes when I feel the sun touching my face and immediately sit up as I have to sneeze. It's a habit of my family, I always have to sneeze once I look in the sun or it just abruptly gets bright. It isn't as fun as it sounds.

I turn myself towards Lily and sigh in relief when I see that I hadn't woken her up. I quietly get out of my bed and walk to our bathroom. It's a beautiful, little room with soft lights and light yellow color on its four walls. I wash my face and put on some of my mascara. My hair looks alright so I figured showering wasn't necessary.

I walk back to Lilys and my closet and wear those light blue shorts from yesterday and a red shirt. I check myself in the mirror for a couple of minutes and take my phone from the charger before I put it into my pants pockets. I then leave our room and go downstairs in the kitchen. A smile spreads across my lips when I see Vanessa already cooking us some breakfast and Johnny sitting on a chair while sipping from his coffee.

"Good morning." I say and take myself a glass of water. "Morning, honey, how'd you sleep?" Vanessa aks and Johnny offers me a cute smile as well. "Good I guess. It was hot under the blankets so I kind of threw them all around my bed." I chuckle and lean against the counter.

Lily joined us only a few minutes later and Johnny sacrificed himself to wake up our Jackie. As expected.

"So what do you want to do after breakfast, kids?" Johnny asks once we started to eat and looks at the three of us. Jack only shrugs his shoulders while Lily and I are grinning at each other. "We want to go to the beach!" we exclaim and giggle afterwards.

It's not like it was impossible to convince everyone to join us since beaches are beautiful, you know. Lily and I hurried to go upstairs again after breakfast and changed into our bikinis. I'm always glad when I see that she kept her weight ordinarily since she struggled a lot with it.

Lily wears a pretty cute, black bikini while I decide for my rose swimsuit. I'm not a big fan of showing my stomach. Each one of us takes a towel before we make our way downstairs again and wait for the others to come down as well. "That swimsuit is so cute, look at this color." Lily says as she obersves my outfit and leans against the wall behind her back.

I smile to myself and cover my body more with my towel "sto-hooop." I whine. "Stop being so insecure, you're gorgeous Lizzy." she says and rolls her eyes at me.

Vanessa, Jack and Johnny appear a couple of minutes later and we all walked from the front door down to the beach. A big smile spreads across my lips when I see the water with its waves and turquoise color. "Oh my, look at that!" I squeak and hear a chuckle from the person next to me.

"You've never seen the ocean before?" Johnny asks and grins at me. "Very funny." I joke and playfully roll my eyes at him. I couldn't help my shy smile though.

We put our towels on those deck chairs once we arrived at the beach. The sand has this clear, beige color and is comfortably warm from the sun. I bury my feet in it as I turn my head to look around the place in adoration. It isn't that hot yet because it's still morning. There's not one cloud to see.

"Kids, c'mere. Suncream." Vanessa says, looking through her bag for the tube. She wears a bikini as well that has a light blue color. But what am I saying, if I'd have a body like her in my 40s I'd be the happiest woman alive. I spot Jack rolling his eyes in annoyance as the three of us go back to the deck chairs to get our suncream. "Don't look like that, safety first." I tease and giggle at the way Jackie looks at me.
