The Sunrise

Day 24

I flinch abruptly at the sound of my alarm going off. For a second I forgot I'm having my earphones in. So I'm wide awake and reach out for my phone on the nightstand for Lily not to hear anything.

I let out a deep sigh the moment I turn off the alarm and put my phone along with my headphones back on the table. In order to have more time with Lily during the day I thought about being with Johnny when the others are still asleep. Which is so dramatic but a side affect also is that there's less of a chance for them to catch us.

Lily and I always shut the curtains because it's getting bright very early. Even though it's only like 4 am in the morning I can see thin strands of light coming through the material.

Soon enough I soundlessly tiptoe to our bedroom door which I carefully open to slide my body into the hallway. Smiling brightly when I close the door again I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to get myself a glass of warm water.

I believe Johnny and I agreed to meet outside so after swallowing the last gulp of the liquid, that is where I went.

And there he is, sitting on the porch with his elbows resting on his knees. He's dressed in a loose shirt and jogging pants. He looks straight forward with his eyes on the ocean while the upcoming light shines through his blonde strands of hair. The view literally took my breath away. It seemed like the sunrise would start in only a few seconds. The sky was painted in blue and rose colors with yellow clouds here and there.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I hear Johnny ask. I hadn't noticed him turning around to look at me. I smile a little and nod my head when I sit down beside him. "Aren't you cold?" Johnny worries when looking at my only half covered body. I'm still wearing my Pyjamas which concludes shorts and a top.

"It's never cold enough to freeze here." I giggle and gently lean against his side.
"That's true!" Johnny smiles and carefully lays an arm around my waist.

"How'd you sleep?" I ask him and rest my head on his shoulder. Hugging my legs closer to my body I sigh comfortably and also just have my eyes staring straight forward. "Good I'd say. It surprisingly didn't take me much to get up this morning." Johnny tells me and softly pecks the top of my head.

I smile and reach out to grab one of his hands. I've come to notice that he wears his rings all. the. time. Even now. Like, is he sleeping with them? I like it though. I start to play with his fingers and the rings that decorate them.

"We should do this again, but with the sunset.." Johnny says softly. His hand grabs mine and fills the spaces between my fingers with his own.

"That'd be great," I say "but not just the two of us. I mean the others won't be asleep then.". Sunset are prettier in my opinion but as I said there was no way Johnny and I could sit here watching it alone and make out.

Johnny slowly nods his head in realization, "we'll meet at night then." He sighs "and go for a swim!". I lift my gaze to look up at him and when I saw his excited face I realize he was serious.

"Really? You wanna go swim?".

"Sure, why not?".

"'Cause it's cold and dark!" I cry out.

"Just a tiny biiit." Johnny laughs and pulls me a little closer to peck my forehead again. "I'll be with you all the time." He assures me. I sigh deeply but can't really find anything to say against his idea anymore. I'm not excited for it though. Maybe there's a chance we just chill outside like today.
