Its been maybe a day or two since the Qudditch match between Slytherin and Gryffindor. As surprising as it is it seems that absolutely no one wants to talk about it. I'm in the library studying for a Divination Exam when I hear a familiar voice mumbling to herself.
"Nicholas Flamel...who in the world is Nicholas Flamel." A smile splits across my face as I close my Divination book waiting for Hermione to round the corner.
"I hear you're hunting for something Granger..." I speak up causing her to jump.
"Who told you that?" She crosses her arms trying to pretend like I didn't just scare her.
"You did, I could hear your mumbling from the next row over." I laughed she uncrossed her arms relaxing ever so slightly.

"Can you help?" I look at her surprised.
"You want me to help? What about Harry and Ron?" She looks back and forth up and down the aisle.
"Do you see them here?" I shake my head before waving her over to the table.
"So, you're looking for info on Nicholas Flamel?"
"Yes." She nodded. I leaned back in my chair confused. "I don't know much about Flamel but what I got from my dad through tiny conversations was that he was a magical genius. Mastering arts that are extremely dangerous to be messing with. Some old wives tales used to say that Flamel had beaten the fight against time."
"What does that even mean?" Hermione sighs. I shake my head feeling her grief.
"I'm not sure but we don't really have time to search now, the Holidays are here and the Library will be closing soon, we can meet up here at this table the first day back."
"Promise?" I hold out my arm with my pinky raised
"Promise" She links her pinky with mine before walking off.

"What in the world is she looking for info on some old wizard..." I think to myself looking back at the book I had on the table in front of me.

The next day the Hogwarts express takes Amelia and Lilith, along with a majority of the Hogwarts students, home for the Holidays. Of course Narcissa wrote wondering if Draco and I would be returning for Christmas. I had opted out of going, the Malfoy's Christmas party was never my cup of tea. Of course when I decided not to go I hadn't talked to Draco, he barely paid me any attention here.

I stand on the platform in my Slytherin scarf and beanie hugging my friends goodbye.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Amelia asks as she is pulling me close.
"Yes Lia, I'll be fine. I've got my dad and the Common room all to myself." I chuckle as Amelia pulls away.
"I've heard Potter is staying behind as well, try not to kill him while we are gone ya?" Lilith hugs me next.
"I make no promises, but at least we don't have classes." the three of us laugh.
"Make sure to write! Both of you!" Amelia glares at Lilith with the second part.
"We will." Lilith and I say in unison

A conversation with my girls was always a good time, all of us laughing until we were getting pains in our sides. After a few more hugs and goodbyes, the girls make their way onto the train. I turn to start walking back to Hogwarts when I run into a black and Yellow chest.

"Hey Val, you didn't think I'd leave without saying goodbye did you?" Cedric shot me a beautiful smile.
"Of course not Ced." I wrap my arms around him my head falling just short of his shoulder. "Have a merry Christmas."

"You too Val. Ya know if you ever need a place to crash, my doors are always open." I give him a light chuckle.
"I'll remember that. Thanks Ced." He gives me a kiss on the top of my head before climbing on the train. I smile rolling my eyes, this time I don't even start walking back to campus before someone else makes their presence known.

"You're boyfriend leaving for the Holiday?" I roll my eyes again looking at Draco.
"Jealousy has never been a good look for you Dray. Besides, Cedric and I are just friends."
"Right! Friends who kiss each other on the head?" Draco crosses his arms trying to make himself look less jealous. A smirk spreads across my face, watching Draco squirm is kinda humorous.
