Its my birthday, Narcissa and Lucius decide we will spend the day getting all of the items needed for the school year to come. We travel by the floo network we quickly arrive in the bustling little town.
"Draco, Vala why don't the two of you go and start getting your uniforms and then we will meet up at Olivander's wand shop?"
"Yes Ma'am" I say before skipping off to the uniform shop. We walk in to Madam Malkin quickly finishing up her last costumer.
"Hogwarts dears?"
"Yes Madam." I respond
"You first young lady, yours wont take nearly as long" She chuckles lightly. Just as Madam Malkin had promised it did not take long for my robes to be completed. I ended up sitting in one of the extra chairs watching as Draco got fitted. Eventually another young boy walks in the door. Madam Malkin calls to the young boy
"Hogwarts, dear?" she paused "Got the lot here- another young man being fitted up just now, in fact" She moves to show the boy where he is going. I continue to sit in the corner.

Draco looked even paler next to this young boy, he had shaggy black hair that looked as if he had just woken up. His glasses were held together with tape and he looked rather startled at everything around him.
"Hello" Draco said, which surprised me. "Hogwarts, too?" He asked. Clearly Draco hadn't been paying any attention to crazy Madam Malkin.
"Yes" Replied the young boy. He sounded somewhat familiar almost like I knew him at some point in time.
"My father's next door buying our books and Mother's up the street looking at wands" Draco spoke slowly as if all of the excitement for Hogwarts was non-existent. "Then I'm going off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first years can't have their own. I think I'll bully Father into getting me one and smuggle it in somehow." Draco looks back at himself in the mirror. He looks overly prideful which made me chuckle.
"What?" Draco looks at me.
"You with that smug look on your face..." Draco rolled his eyes and continued talking to the boy.
"Have you got your own broom?"
"No" responded the boy
"Play Quidditch at all?"
"No" I could tell the boy had no idea what Draco was talking about.
"I do- Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked to play for my House, and I must say, I agree. Know what house you'll be in yet?" Draco looks over the boys shoulder at me smug. I roll my eyes, Draco and I are both after a spot on the Slytherin Quidditch Team.
"No" The boy looked even more confused the more Draco kept talking.
"Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all our family have been"
"I'm not sure where I'll end up in all honesty." I speak up trying to rescue the boy from Draco
"What are you talking about, Of course you'll be in Slytherin, your fate is practically decided... I mean just look at your Fa-"
"Thats enough!" I stop him before he buried me alive. He rolls his eyes before being struck by a horrible thought
"Imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"
"Mhmm"
"Leave him alone, he'll be fine where ever the hat puts him."
"But just look at that man!" Draco says looking towards the front window.
"Thats Hagrid," The boy says excited "He works at Hogwarts"
"Oh" Draco says slowly looking at me "I've heard of him. He's a sort of servant, isn't he?"
"He's the gamekeeper" The boy is obviously getting pissed off.
"Yes, exactly. I heard he's sort of a savage- lives in a hut on the school grounds and every now and then he gets drunk, tries to do magic, ends up setting fire to his bed"
"Oh, shut up would you. You know nothing about him" I say
"I think he's brilliant" the boy said quickly and coldly.
"Do you?" Draco had a sneer on his face "Why is he with you? Where are your parents?"
"They're dead," The boy said fast.
Right then it hit me, confused about all things magic, messy black  hair, pissed off by jerks in the back of a robes shop. Of course, why didn't I see it before... Standing in front of me now, talking with my closest friend was none other than Harry Potter. I tuned out the rest of their conversation. I just stared at the boy, my jaw practically on the floor. Soon Madam Malkin came back and told Harry he was finished. Draco was having his robes completely tailored so they were going to take forever.
"Strange boy that one, don't you think Rose?" Draco drawls
"Yeah strange..." I say watching out the window.

A short while later Draco finally finishes getting his robes fitting just right. We walk out of the robe shop to meet Lucius. He nods before handing both of us our bundles of books. The three of us make our way to Olivander's where Narcissa is looking around.
"Oh the rest of the Family has arrived. Welcome Mr. Malfoy...and Ms. Riddle, but not entirely" A crazy old man speaks when we walk through the front door. Everything is quiet and quite dim. His white hair stands off of his head as if he stuck his finger in a light socket. The man quickly takes care of Draco knowing the exact wand almost instantly. Draco leaves with Narcissa and Lucius.
"We will be right outside Vala" Narcissa speaks before walking out the door.
"Now my dear, you are interesting. The wisdom and love for learning as your mother, the ambition of your father. Not to mention everything cursed upon you..." The man rubs his chin before pulling out a dusty dark purple box.
"11 inches, Horn beam, unicorn hair" Olivander hands me the white wand. I give it a slight flick and a fire starts in the corner. Olivander quickly puts it out shouting No.
"10 inches, ash, phoenix feather." I take the dark brown wand, before I can even move my hand the wand is gone. "No, No, No... that's not right either..." Olivander walks further down the aisle before I hear.
"I wonder... 14 inches, elder, and Thestral Hair" He opens the box and I see a beautiful long light brown wand. It has a perfectly carved handled with a green tinge to it. It looked as if it had sat outside never used, sun bleached and covered in algae. I pick it up and I feel a gust of wind the lights around me flicker. I hear a small whisper  Potentes Nimis.
"Nimis?" I whisper...
"The wand chose you, it even told you its name."
"Potentes Nimis?" I ask slowly.
"I can not tell you weather or not that is correct but seeing as this wand is only matched by its sister, I could see how 'Powerful beyond Measure' is the name it rightfully gave itself."
"Its sister?"
"Yes my dear, the wand you carry now is the sister to the most famous wand of all time, The elder wand" Olivander whispers the last part "Tell no one of the power you hold, but be weary. Anyone you allow to hold your wand will share a connection with you for the rest of time." Olivander gives me a wink and a wave as I walk out of the building.
"Where to next my dear?" Narcissa asks as I exit.
"Can we pick out our pets next?"
"Of course." Narcissa nods and we go walking off.

We enter the shop full of Owls, Toads, and Cats. Draco walks around looking at everything, I just walk around until I hear a small Meow coming from a section in the back corner. I look down into the bin to see a tiny kitten staring up at me, it has short stubby legs and piercing blue eyes. She is white with a light brown tip to her tail and her face. She Meows up to me again.
"Rose?" I turn to see Draco coming down the aisle.
"Isn't she perfect" I pick up the tiny thing, I don't even need two hands to pick her up.
"Her eyes pierce you like yours do..."
"Is that a good thing?" I look at him
"Its a great thing" He gives me a small smile. I love seeing this side of Draco. The side that is kind and honest, not nearly as stuck up.
"Excellent." I pull the baby close to my chest and make my way to the front counter. I stand behind a tall brunet boy. Draco walks outside to his parents. The brunette in front of me looks over his shoulder and smiles.
"She is a cute one" He says
"Yeah she is" I chuckle back petting behind her ears as she purrs.
"I'm Cedric"
"Vala" I smile.
"First year?"
"Hopefully." I chuckle
"Hopefully?"
"My birthday is actually today, I wont receive my letter until later tonight"
"And why is that? Dumbledore normally sends them out a few days prior to your eleventh birthday."
"Professor Snape will deliver mine personally"
"Oh..." Cedric pauses for a minute. "Mind me asking why?"
I lean towards Cedric "He is actually my father, but you can't say anything"
"Your father is Professor Snape?" He whispers surprised.
"Yeah, I hope you haven't lost all respect for me" I shrug petting my kitten again
"Of course not. Snape may not be my favorite professor but I have no personal issues with him."
"What year are you?"
"I am a year four Hufflepuff"
"You don't seem like a Hufflepuff..."
"Thank you?"
"I didn't mean it in a bad way. I have respect for all of the houses, I've read every book about the founders."
"So future Ravenclaw I'm assuming"
"Not in a million years" I laugh
"AH, future Slytherin then"
"More likely." I giggle slightly.
"Well, some of the best friendships come from Hufflepuff and Slytherin."
"So I've heard."
"Here's my place, feel free to write to me these next few weeks. I'll see you at Hogwarts Val" He hands me a small piece of paper with an address scribbled across it.
"See you, Ced" He gives me a cheeky grin then walks away. The man at the counter checks me out and gives me a small carrier to put my kitten in.
"What's her name?"
"Eris, like the goddess of Discord in Greek Myths"
"Good choice"

Soon after that The Malfoy's and I head back to the manor.
"Alright kids, get ready. We will be going to dinner soon!"
