"Are you alright?" Asked the man Adalbert. "I was explaining the regions and your eyes glazed over... What happened?" Said Adalbert. "I had a memory." I said shakingly. "What was the memory about?" Celeste piped in. This was the first time she had addressed me in conversation, so I was surprised at the calm ferocity of her voice. "I...it was a scene... of a great fiery orb...descending below the end of the land." I stammered. "Ah, that sounds like a sunset you described. never seen one myself, in fact there is only one...er, well he...it can't exactly be called a human any more, but we'll get to that later. Now where did I leave off... Oh yes. The 12 regions. Now, the regions are all frozen in time. Nobody knows why, because they've been that way since as far as we can remember, and not many people know the real truth. The real truth is only known by a handful of the population. I happen to be one of those few. These twelve regions are the lands of what used to be a planet called Earth. This planet was inhabited mostly by humans, but eventually they set their sights to the vast vacuum of space. And they achieved that. In fact, the humans managed to explore and colonise several thousand planets. But the humans' most successful planet's core was offset by an incredibly strong magnetic force that stopped the rotation entirely, which ultimately led to the ozone collapsing and the magnetic field surrounding the earth to cease to exist. The humans, by this point not so much human as other alien species, evacuated the planet and returned to Earth. They discovered that the same thing had happened to Earth, so they constructed a fake light source and installed an ozone layer and magnetic field around the planet. The planet turned out to be too small, so they left the planet for a larger one a few million light years away." Adalbert ranted. "So...Earth... Is this planet?" I asked, confused. "Mmhhm." Mumbled Adalbert. Obviously deep in thought. Suddenly, a scene formed in my mind. An awful, horrible, war-torn scene depicting fiery red skies and rumbling land. Men of all shapes and sizes, some seemingly made of glass, with expressionless faces and bodies of smooth material, fragile but rigid. Others were men of dark, solid shadows, flitting along carrying weapons of all variety. Others still had fleshy faces, with blood staining their skin. Some were primitive, with tools of rock and twisted metal, wearing nothing but hide. Others carried long, sleek weapons with a reflective surface, charging into battle with confidence, covered in smooth, sleek, chrome armor. And among these creatures was the most fearsome, disgusting beasts whose appearance could not be described. They were horrible, awful, grotesque creatures who seemed to half amble, half walk. They had no particular form, shifting from humanoid, to repulsive shapes that changed every time you looked at them, once five legs and three tentacles, another fifteen pincers and a horrible tail. The glass men fought the grotesque shapes, and the shadow men fought humans. The sky seemed to rain horrible projectiles, swarming with aircraft of all types, the seas bursting with horrible sea beasts the size of a mountain, and suddenly, there was a bright light. No noise, no motion. Just light. It stayed that way for what seemed like hours, but when it subsided, everything was gone.
