Destiny had spent most of the time since Charles had returned with Margaret hiding in her chambers, as the days grew longer she noticed more and more that Henry spent time with his new mistress. Charles had begged to be allowed to return to court and was welcomed back, but it wasnt long before a sickness spread across the country. Henry began sending his mistress and his wife away for safety.
"Destiny."
"Yes?" She responded looking up.
"Your majesty."
"You must go somewhere, away from here."
"Where? I have no where to go."
"I will send you with the queen. You must leave the palace."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." He told her. Destiny agreed. Much to everyone's horror the sickness spread quickly and killed thousands. Destiny had guessed it was two weeks before they returned to the palace and attended a mass for those that had been lost during the plague.
"Lady Bryne. Are you alright?" Queen Catherine asked her.
"Yes your majesty."
Destiny returned to her chambers that evening to be surprised to find Charles standing in it waiting for her.
"Your grace." She said bowing.
"Destiny, please."
"Does your wife know your here?"
"Destiny." He said reaching out to touch her. She wanted so bad to feel his touch. But he had married the kings sister.
"My love." Charles said to her, Destiny moved forward and kissed him deeply.
"Return to your wife." She said stepping back and turning away from him, tears slipping down her cheeks. But he didn't leave, he came up  behind her and wrapped his arms around her, his lips slowly kissing her neck.
"Let me love you again. I have wanted to love you. I know I broke your heart, let me mend it." He turned her to face him and lifted her into his arms and walked to her bed, his hands unlaced her bodice and set free her ample breasts, he removed her skirts and under skirt throwing them to the floor along with her shoes. His own clothes joined hers on the floor. He kissed his way down her body and moved back up and slid into her their motions moving together, their moans of pleasure heard beyond the door, the guards never moved.
Destiny rolled onto her side sometime later and looked at Charles.
"She will not be jealous?"
"Our marriage is not as it was. I never meant to do what I did. It was impulse, I did not think before I did what did."
"Have I lost you Charles or am I just a mistress because you are in a loveless marriage?"
"Destiny it is you who I want."
Destiny knew he was telling the truth. He returned to her bed every night, leaving to return home during the day. But one night during a storm he spent the night with Destiny, they were in the throes of passion and little did he know his wife was dying at home alone. He returned home the next day to find that she was dead. Destiny had gone to court when she heard that Margaret had died and Henry was angry that Charles had not told him she was sick. Destiny did not believe he knew. Destiny stayed away from the funeral a day later. She knew that even if Charles did not love Margaret as he once had he held remorse for leaving her to die alone. Destiny looked up as Charles entered her chambers a few days later and she embraced him. She knew he was upset.
"My love, I am sorry." Destiny said to him. Charles held onto her and nodded.
