Charles turned and looked at her and smiled. He had never been so happy to know she was alive and well. He was angry that people came into his home and had taken her hostage.
"What's on your mind?" She asked pulling him from his thoughts.
"How happy I am your safe. And how lucky I am to have you."
"I feel I am the lucky one. How many times have you saved me? How many times have you put my life before your own."
"I love you and I would go to the end of the earth for you. Destiny you know I love you."
"Charles I love you too, you have done so much for me, for someone that at first you barely knew."
"I guess I felt if I got to know you maybe we would see where it would lead. I will admit to be someone that goes from one woman to another. But when I saw you, you were the only one I wanted."
"I know. Are you going to see his majesty again?"
"I will see him tomorrow. You're my main concern today. How are you feeling."
"As long as I don't move wrong I do alright, but I have gotten dizzy a couple times."
"Then today my lady you will rest. You will be brought anything you need."
"I just need you Charles." Destiny said holding her hand out to him.
"Well I will remain your humble servant."
"Funny." Destiny said as he sat down on the bed. Charles moved closer and lay next to her, Destiny lay her head on his chest and closed her eyes and fell asleep. He held her while she slept, he would never allow her to be hurt again and to have someone come to his home and hurt her made it worse. Charles slid out from under her and stepped into the adjacent room.
"Is everything alright your grace?" A servant asked.
"Yes, I am going to let Destiny sleep, if you need me I will be just outside."
"Yes your grace."
Charles stepped out into the fresh air and could tell it was going to rain soon. He walked into the barn and began brushing one of the horses he owned. Charles stepped out of the barn when he heard the first clap of thunder, he moved quickly into the main part of the house to see his son standing there.
"What is wrong Edward?"
"Is Destiny alright?"
"She is getting better. Come let's see if she is awake." He said leading his young son into the room, he walked up to the bed and touched her arm. Destiny slowly opened her eyes and looked at him and then to Edward.
"Hey you hungry?"
"Yes actually I am. Good to see you Edward."
"Its good to see your feeling better." Edward said with a smile, he liked Destiny and could tell she made his father happy. Charles looked at the two and then looked at Destiny.
"Did you want to try and get up?"
"Sure. Sounds like a storm is brewing."
"It is a good storm, I just have to keep track of the wind." He told her, he helped her stand and placed a shawl over her shoulders and him and Edward led her from the room.
"Relax here, I will go see how long it will be until supper."
"Alright. Come Edward sit with me." She said pointing to the other chair. Edward sat and smiled as he waited for his father to return, Destiny looked toward the window and watched the storm rage on outside. Slowly getting to her feet she started toward the window, she couldn't have been more than a foot from the window when a large tree branch flew into the window sending glass everywhere, Charles and two servants came running and he moved her away from the window. He checked her over for any cuts or new injuries.
"I'm fine it was just a little glass. "
"That's allot of glass. Please sit."
"I will clean that right away your grace." A servant said going to get a room. Charles was still worried so he checked Destiny over once more.
"Alright so you have no new cuts or anything. Edward are you alright?"
"Yes father I am fine."
"Good, supper should be ready in an hour. Just relax, how about a game of cards Destiny."
"Alright." She said to him, Charles moved and gathered what he needed and they set to playing cards while waiting to eat.
