Valntyne's pov

Last day of college. Last opportunity for friends. Yeah right what am I thinking ain't nobody gonna know I exist. Well one can always hope for 'friendship' where we hang out at Starbucks and gossip about other people. Yeah no I'm not one of those fake people that make themselves feel better by making others feel worse. Especially since everyone always made fun of me to make themselves feel better. But hopefully all their snobby parents paid for them to go to college somewhere else.

"Well let's get to the graduation" I say to myself in the mirror. I grab my backpack and my the keys to my old impala.
Once I make it to campus then try to make it to the graduation hall is when all of the sudden I'm knocked to the ground. I quickly look around and see another girl on the ground opposite of me.
"I'm so so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going I'm just trying to get to graduation."
I get up off the ground and reach my hand out to help her up and say
"obviously I wasn't looking either my name is valntyne by the way"
"Um I'm Jersey I am just trying to get to graduation my roommate kept me up all night but what else is new.  You probably didn't want to know that" she admits awkwardly. I think I might have a friend.
"Well I better get to graduation and I don't want to be late."
"I do to we can go together."
When we get to the hall there aren't many people here yet so I quickly scan the room for a left handed desk one of my many flaws. Jersey is right on my heels when I reach the desk she immediately asked the one question I'm so tired of answering..
"Are you left handed"
"Um yeah it's one of my many flaws"
"Omg it is not a flaw it's actually really cool"
I look over to the side and see there is another left handed desk well I won't have to talk to anyone on that side. Jersey takes her seat and I hear a awful laugh come from the entrance. I know that laugh anywhere. It's Jessica the one girl I was hoping would be sent away by her parents and it looks like her two sidekicks are with her. I look at jersey and she rolls her eyes.
"Those are my roommates and omg I couldn't sleep with all the talking they were doing ."
" I feel so bad for you I went to high school with her she bullied me every day"
"Yep now I'm free of her but what is scarier is she wants to move into the same apartment so we can split the cost of bills I don't know if I can handle her anymore"
"Well I know we just ran into each other but I have a spare bedroom at my house if you want it." I said with a bit of hope she would move in.
"You don't have to do that I wouldn't want to intrude." I stopped her right there
"Believe me if I can save another person from Jessica I will"
"That will be awesome she didn't like my decorating anyway she said it was to nerdy or geeky I don't exactly remember"
"When do you want to move in"
"Well I haven't fully packed but I guess I can load what boxes I have packed into my car and I can follow you home since it's graduation day this is all we have to do"
"Well well well looks like the nerds made friends so pathetic." Jessica seethed
"Well at least we aren't friends for popularity or money we actually enjoy each other's company." Jersey popped off.
"Oh and by the way I'm moving out I can't stand living with all you snobs."
I gave her a look that said thank you.
Then a tall blonde boy I had never seen before passes in front of me and sits right next to me at the other left handed desk I quickly look at jersey and she gets up walks over to him and introduces us.
"Hi I'm jersey and this is Valntyne "
"Oh hi I'm Ryan it's a pleasure to meet you"
He reached out his left hand as he was going to shake her hand. Then came the awkwardness of when a left handed person goes to shake hands with someone right handed. You see it's a known fact that when going to shake hands any person will stick out their dominant hand. So I quickly stand up and reach my hand out to save the whole awkwardness from happening.
"Wow your eyes are beautiful I've never seen grey eyes before their amazing."he says with a smile.
"I... uh.. no one has ever noticed before."
"Most people see but don't always observe the distinction is clear."
