I get up the next morning to start getting ready for work. Today is my first full day of work. But I was about to leave the remembered jersey doesn't have a key to lock the place if she gets adventurous so I wrote her a note and stuck it on the fridge the note told her the hide a key was. Then I left cause I didn't want to be late. As soon as I walked in my manager called me over.
"Hey Val I'm sorry to have to do this but can you train the new guy and pretty much do my job today my babysitter just called and canceled" my boss had a baby a couple months back
"Yeah sure I can take care of things"
"Thank you so much here are the keys to lock up after closing time"
"Okay I'll take care of it"
"I'll have to get you a raise for this"
"No you won't now get going that baby needs it's momma" I told her. She ran off I walked to the back to put my stuff away then looked at her sheet of workers to see who I would be training. And the name on the list was Ryan Johnson. Well I looked in her filing cabinet to look for a picture or else I wouldn't know he probably looks like any normal costumer. I finally found the picture. Oh dear lord am I ever going to get away from people I go to school with. Apparently not. Mr left hand that jersey had to introduce us to. Well I clock in and go out on the floor so I could answer people's questions and help them.
About two hours later in walks Ryan with that goofy smile on his face.
"Hey I know you from graduation yesterday"
"Yep that's me anyway my manager isn't here currently so I'm your boss for today"
"Oh what happened to her"
"None of your business now let me show you around back" I started walking toward the back then I'm stopped by my co worker.
"Hey Reilly isn't going to make it in today and Lara told us to report to you if anything happened"
"Yeah it's all good I've got the newbie here so we will be staffed as normal" I told him and turned to Ryan
"Okay now that you met mike let's get your stuff from the back" we walked to the back and I grabbed the mic that we all wear to keep look out for people who look suspicious. I helped him put it on and adjust anything.
"Everyone sound off so Ryan can put names to voices"
"Mike"
"Luis"
"Ally"
"Sarah" then I called mine. And I looked to him.
"Oh I'm Ryan"
"Alright back to work ya filthy animals" I got a bunch of different responses.
"Alright I got a few rules that everyone must follow during training. Training lasts one week. Alright number one if I move you move number two you wear your mic at all times I don't care if you are in the bathroom if I need a sound off or someone has a question you need to be able to answer. And third currently everyone is above you and you need to treat them with respect. Here your age doesn't matter only who has worked here long knowledge of the store is what matters" I said in the best boss voice I could muster. Normally I'm pretty shy but when it comes to work I'm the exact opposite.
"Yes ma'am" he jokingly salutes.
"Now let's get to work" I said and walked out the door. As the day was winding down it was time to close up shop everyone is going home. And I'm working on closing out the registers getting everything ready for tomorrow
"Hey do you need help or anything" Ryan asked.
"No I'm good you can go. This is stuff our manager normally does so I got this" I said
"Well I can wait and walk you out to your car it's dark out and no pretty girl should be walking alone at dark" he said wait did he just say pretty
"Um yeah I did" he said dang it I said it out loud.
"Ok look flattery is going to get you know where so if that is all you gonna do then you can run along to Jessica" I said.
"I'm not interested in her I'm interested in you. You are a puzzle I'm going to solve"
"I would rather you not" I said
"Well sorry you have caught my eye I see you. Just cause nobody else does. doesn't mean I don't. It's too late cause I see you. I see the way you are with people from young to old I see your smile. And I can't unsee it" he said
"Well then I'm sorry you see me now I need to set the alarm so you can go out the back door. Now bye bye" I said he walked out I set the alarm and walked out locking the back door and he was still there.
"Why are you still here I told you to leave"
"And I said I would make sure you make it to your car"
"Ugh fine let's go." There were only two cars in the parking lot mine and another one I could only assume was his.
"Well we are here and now you can leave" I said as I opened the door to my impala.
"You drive an impala" he said
"Yep I do this bad boy is a 1967 Chevy impala and it runs like a dream now I'm going home to my roommate bye" I said as I got in the car and shut the door. I started her up and drove off. I need to talk to Jersey about this.
