Chapter 83 - Acnologia's First Step

IN FRONT OF AN ABANDONED CASTLE-LIKE BUILDING...

The wind continued to blow as Zeref and I looked at the structure.

"He's in here...", I stated.

"Yes," Zeref replied. "Let's go."

I nodded in agreement.

We walked towards the entrance with no hesitation as the doors opened by themselves.

We stepped back and heard a voice. "Come in! Let's have fun shall we?"

We looked at each other, nodded, and walked inside. We looked around and noticed that the room was empty.

Suddenly, two paths were shown. "Pick a path! One path will lead to your friends and one will lead to me!"

"What are you trying to do?", I asked.

"Just pick one!", he replied.

"I'll take the right," Zeref stated. "Take the left, Melanie."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"I understand." I walked towards the left and stopped. "Be careful, Zeref."

"You too."

As I followed my path, I moticed a light shining at the end. I continued to walk towards it.

Once I approached the light, I found everyone held captive with their magic being absorbed from them.

"EVERYONE!", I yelled as Acnologia appeared in front of me. I reacted with surprise, "Acnologia..."

"Hello, Melanie..", Acnologia greeted.

"Zeref...WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!"

"Relax and I'll tell you. I tricked you two."

I was silent.

"I lead Zeref to a dead end where he was captured and his magic would be absorbed just like what is going on with your precious friends. He...FELL INTO MY TRAP..."

"No way..."

"Heh. This is going exactly as planned.."

"AHHHH!!!!!!!", Natsu yelled.

"UGHHH!!!!!!", Gray yelled.

"ARGHHH!!!!!", Erza yelled.

Everyone yelled as they tried to get out of the machine that was absorbing their magic.

"What the?! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!", Acnologia yelled with shock.

A bright light shined as everyone broke free and ran towards Acnologia.

I ran out of the way.

"YOU BASTARD!!!!!", Natsu yelled as he was about to punch him in the face.

Unfortunately, he missed.

Acnologia: Dark Dragon's Wing Attack!

The attack went towards them.

Wendy: Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!

Gajeel: Iron Dragon's Wing Attack!

Aurelie: Water and Ice Dragon's Wing Attack!

Natsu: Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!

Their attacks combined and made Acnologia fall to the ground.

"HEY YOU!", Natsu yelled at me with serious eyes.

I looked at him.

"GO AND FIND ZEREF!" He and everyone else smiled. "WE TRUST YOU!"

I continued to look at them and smiled with a nod. I ran towards the hallway, "GOT IT! BE CAREFUL, FAIRY TAIL!"

"WAIT! I'M NOT LETTING YOU LEAVE!" Acnologia started to follow me.

Gray: Freeze!

His legs were frozen.

"We are your enemies here!," Erza yelled.

"WE WON'T LET YOU GO NEAR HER!", Lucy yelled.

I ran as fast I can to where Zeref was.

"This scent! I sense him! I'm close!"

A door appeared in front of him. I reached for the knob and opened it immediately. I found Zeref, unconscious.

"Zeref!" I shook him, "ZEREF! HANG IN THERE!"

I grabbed onto his clothes and tried to pull him out of the machine.

But, he didn't budge.

Me: The Nature Fairy! Vine Tangle!

I grabbed the vines and pulled him with my strength.

Seconds later, he was free.

As he fell, I catched him and fell on the ground. 

"Zeref! Zeref, are you okay?" I waved my hand so he can have some air.

His eyes slowly opened.

"Zeref!", I said with a relieved tone and a smile.

"Melanie....my magic...", he said with a weak tone.

"I know..I'll heal you..."

Me: Light Enchantress!

I placed my hands over him and started to heal him. "Fairy Tail is fighting Acnologia right now.."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Zeref looked to the side.

"They really became stronger. They were able to break out of the machines with their strength," I said with a proud smile. "So, we shouldn't worry about them."

"I thought I will find him. But, I just fell into his trap. I can't believe it.."

"Zeref. It's not your fault."

He was silent.

"Once we go back, we will end this battle once and for all. This situation will be behind us. All we must do is not give up."

He smiled, "Right."

I removed my hands. "Do you feel better?"

"Yeah. Thanks."

I stood up and reached for his hand to help him up. Once he stood, I asked, "Ready?"

"Yeah."

"Let's do this."

We high-fived and ran back to the second path.

Once we arrived in the room, everyone was on the ground, trying to get up.

"What happened?", I asked.

Acnologia laughed out loud. "To be honest, I thought they would be a great opponent to fight. But they turned out to be PATHETIC WEAKLINGS!"

"Everyone...", Zeref muttered.

"How...CAN YOU DO THIS TO THEM!!!!!!", I yelled as I ran towards him.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!!!!!!!", Zeref yelled.

"GET OUT OF THE DARKNESS! ACNOLOGIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", we yelled in unison as we jumped into the air, ready to attack.
