A Han Dynasty Love Poem

You spoke to me silently.

I listened for you loudly.

They detained you over evasion.

They charge me with mischief.

China refuses to show you.

Miami neglects to exhibit me.

We have smashed these Han.

We can break those dynasties.

You say we are different.

I hear us being identical.

Had fun with this one, loosely styling it after Han Dynasty yuefu poetry. These poems work in five-character-sized couplets, with each Chinese character relating to its partner in the other line. To retain this effect, I decided to make the lines using five words rather than syllables. Pretentious nonsense, but fun to play with all the same.

Also, a fun (albeit pretentious) Easter Egg:  Ai Weiwei's family name (in my ignorant opinion) sounds like 愛 (ai), which is Japanese for love.
